Snax Becomes Free Agent After G2 Part Ways

Summary

G2 Esports has officially parted ways with Polish IGL Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski, who is now a free agent following roughly a month on the bench.

Snax's Legacy with G2

Since joining the roster in July 2024, replacing Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen, Snax quickly made his mark. Under his leadership, G2 captured both the BLAST Premier Fall Final and BLAST Premier World Final, reached the final of PGL Bucharest, and made a deep run at the Esports World Cup. The team also reached the semi-finals of the Shanghai Major, where Snax delivered his best-rated performance with G2.

However, as the 2025 season unfolded, G2's form faltered—largely following the departures of Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and later Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov to Falcons. With results declining, G2 announced a summer rebuild, appointing Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač as the new IGL.

Official Announcement & Acknowledgment

In their official statement, G2 expressed gratitude for Snax’s contributions:

“We can’t thank Snax enough for his contributions and plays since joining us last year. We wouldn’t have been able to lift the BLAST Fall Final and BLAST World Final without you.”

G2’s Roster Overhaul

This marks the culmination of a considerable offseason restructure for G2. In addition to Snax, m0NESY and coach Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas have also departed the organization. New additions include coach Eetu “sAw” Saha, AWPer Álvaro “SunPayus” García, and rifler Matúš “MATYS” Šimko.

Context: Why This Move?

G2's slide in performance was directly tied to the exits of NiKo and m0NESY. With the loss of their in-game leadership and star firepower, the squad struggled to maintain consistency. Changing environments and the shifting of calling roles—particularly with huNter- gradually assuming more in-game leadership responsibilities—made Snax’s position increasingly untenable.

Additional Background on Snax

32-year-old Counter‑Strike veteran from Poland, Snax is widely celebrated for his Major-winning tenure with Virtus.pro (2014) and has multiple HLTV MVP and EVP honours.

His stint with G2 (July 2024 – August 2025) was the latest chapter in a storied career spanning teams such as Virtus.pro, GamerLegion, and multiple Polish squads.

Final Notes

As of August 26, 2025, Snax stands unattached and available on the free agent market. With his pedigree and experience, he's sure to draw interest from teams seeking a strategic in-game leader. Meanwhile, G2 embarks on a fresh rebuild with huNter- at the helm and several new pieces added to the roster.
