SINNERS captain beastik targets deep Major run after historic qualification
beastik says Major qualification alone is “not enough” for SINNERS
SINNERS captain Sebastian “beastik” Daňo says qualifying for the IEM Cologne Major is only the beginning, with the Czech in-game leader now aiming for a deep playoff run on Counter-Strike’s biggest stage.
The European squad officially secured its Major spot after FaZe were eliminated by BIG in the HLC Belgrade PRO grand final, confirming SINNERS as the final team at the upcoming CS2 Major.
Speaking to HLTV after SINNERS’ series against GamerLegion at IEM Atlanta, beastik admitted the achievement still feels surreal after years of failed qualification attempts.
“I want to have some deep run or I will not be satisfied,” beastik said in the interview.
The SINNERS veteran explained that simply attending the Major would not fulfill the team’s ambitions, especially after multiple painful near misses in previous qualification cycles.
SINNERS finally qualify for Counter-Strike Major
SINNERS’ qualification marks one of the biggest moments in the organization’s Counter-Strike history. The team had repeatedly fallen short in past Major campaigns, making this breakthrough especially emotional for long-time members beastik and Max “SHOCK” Kvapil.
However, the team did not clinch the spot directly on stage. Instead, SINNERS qualified after FaZe lost to BIG, a result that mathematically secured the final Major place for the Czech organization.
Beastik admitted the online nature of the qualification created a strange atmosphere compared to winning a decisive LAN match in person.
Despite that, the SINNERS captain emphasized that the roster has no intention of being satisfied with just participation.
SINNERS international roster showing progress
The current SINNERS lineup represents a major shift for the organization, which historically fielded Czech-speaking rosters. The squad now communicates in English and includes an international core featuring beastik, SHOCK, MoDo, kisserek, and stressarN.
According to beastik, the transition has gone smoother than expected. He explained that English communication has simplified certain mid-round calls and allowed him to focus more on his own gameplay.
The roster recently gained valuable tier-one LAN experience at IEM Atlanta after replacing BET-M in the tournament lineup.
Although SINNERS lost to GamerLegion, the team showed flashes of promise by taking a map off the European side before struggling on the defensive halves of Inferno and Nuke.
FaZe miss Major as SINNERS secure final spot
SINNERS’ qualification also became one of the biggest talking points in the Counter-Strike scene because it came at FaZe’s expense.
FaZe failed to reach the Major after losing 1-2 to BIG in the HLC Belgrade PRO final, ending one of the longest active Major attendance streaks in Counter-Strike history.
The result immediately sparked widespread discussion across the CS2 community, with many players and analysts reacting to FaZe missing the event for the first time since joining the scene in 2016.
For SINNERS, though, the focus has already shifted toward preparation.
beastik reveals SINNERS’ Major preparation plans
Beastik confirmed that SINNERS plan to hold an extended bootcamp ahead of the Major to improve communication, expand the team’s map pool, and refine tactical structure.
The IGL also pointed to recent mistakes at IEM Atlanta, particularly lost advantage rounds and inconsistent CT sides, as key issues the team must fix before facing elite opposition at the Major.
With momentum building around the organization, SINNERS now enter the biggest tournament in team history carrying both pressure and opportunity.
