PLAYzone Unveils 2026 CS2 LAN Circuit With Four Events and Nearly $100,000 in Prize Money

Czech tournament organizer PLAYzone has revealed a robust 2026 Counter-Strike 2 LAN schedule featuring four international events and almost $96,000 in total prize money, underlining its ambition to grow as a staple Tier-2 LAN operator in Europe.

Roadmap and Strategy

PLAYzone’s 2026 plan blends two VRS-invite tournaments with two open LAN cups, distributed between Prague and Brno. The mix aims to attract international teams through both open entries and invites based on the VRS Ranking System, which has become increasingly influential for event participation and qualification pathways in the CS2 competitive ecosystem.

1. Tipsport Conquest of Prague — May 22–24

The first major event will be the Tipsport Conquest of Prague, returning after its successful 2025 edition that culminated in a grand final featuring fnatic and ENCE.

  • Location: Vodafone PLAYzone Arena, Prague

  • Prize Pool: ~$35,000

  • Format:

    • 16 teams total

    • 12 teams receive invites based on their VRS ranking

    • 4 teams earn spots via online qualifiers

    • Online stages will include a Swiss system with decider matches

  • This structure blends competitive integrity with a global open path, offering regional and international teams direct and merit-based routes to LAN.

2. Tipsport Open Cup #1 — August 5–9

Following Prague’s main event, PLAYzone will run the first open cup of the season.

  • Location: Vodafone PLAYzone Arena, Prague

  • Prize Pool: ~$13,000

  • Format:

    • 12 teams from around the world

    • 8 teams begin in a group stage

    • The top 4 ranked teams according to VRS skip straight to the playoffs

This cup emphasizes accessibility by allowing direct paid entry and rewarding performance with VRS-based advantages.

3. Tipsport Open Cup #2 — September 23–27

The second open LAN cup mirrors the first:

  • Location: Vodafone PLAYzone Arena, Prague

  • Prize Pool: ~$13,000

  • Format: Same as the August event — group stage start, VRS playoff seeding.

This pair of open cups provides multiple opportunities for international teams to compete on LAN and accumulate experience and prize earnings outside of invite-only events.

4. Tipsport RUSH: Brno — November 20–22

PLAYzone’s final event of 2026 is Tipsport RUSH: Brno, positioned as an alternative to larger international tournaments like IEM Brno:

  • Location: BVV Brno Exhibition Centre, Brno

  • Associated With: Czech Championship Gaming Festival

  • Prize Pool: ~$35,000

  • Format:

    • 12 teams invited via the VRS ranking

    • 4 teams from open online qualifiers

This event ties a competitive LAN directly into a major gaming festival, broadening audience engagement and strengthening the Czech LAN calendar’s footprint.

Why It Matters for CS2 Tier-2 Scene

PLAYzone’s announcement comes at a time when the Tier-2 LAN scene in CS2 is rapidly expanding, with more organizations scheduling offline competitions that feed into broader ranking and qualification systems. The use of VRS invites alongside open cup formats highlights a trend toward greater competitive stability and varied pathways for teams outside the top echelon.

By establishing a compact yet diverse LAN lineup — from high-profile invite events to accessible open cups — PLAYzone is positioning itself as a meaningful contributor to the 2026 CS2 competitive ecosystem.
