PGL Łódź 2027 adds another clash to Counter-Strike’s crowded future calendar

PGL’s newly announced return to Poland has created another direct clash in the 2027 Counter-Strike calendar, with PGL Łódź set to run from March 18-28 — the same finishing stretch as BLAST Premier Singapore Open 2027.

PGL confirmed on Sunday that Łódź’s 15,000-seat Atlas Arena will host its third event of 2027, marking the organizer’s return to Poland nearly a decade after PGL Major Krakow 2017. The tournament is scheduled for March 18-28 and will feature 16 teams, with 14 invited directly through the December 7 Global VRS and two more coming from a European qualifier.

The dates overlap almost entirely with BLAST Premier Singapore Open 2027, which is listed for March 15-28 with a $1.25 million prize pool and 16 teams in attendance. BLAST’s own event page also notes that teams are expected to arrive in Singapore no later than March 17 and depart up to March 29, leaving no realistic room for teams to attend both events.

The clash continues a wider trend in the post-2025 open circuit. HLTV previously noted that several BLAST events in 2027 would come under pressure from PGL’s expanded calendar, with four BLAST events clashing with PGL tournaments. PGL has also committed to six events in 2027, including a March slot originally listed for March 19-28 before the Łódź details were finalized.

The announcement also includes a notable integrity rule. According to HLTV’s report, PGL’s published additional information states that any roster withdrawing from a PGL event after accepting an invite, regardless of timing or circumstances, may be disqualified from receiving a Direct VRS Invite to the next PGL event.

Valve’s tournament rules allow organizers to publish integrity or conduct rules that disqualify rosters from Direct VRS Invites, but those rules must be transparent, objective, and applied regardless of the roster or circumstances.

For teams, the message is clear: 2027 is likely to bring more difficult calendar decisions, not fewer. For viewers, it may mean another scenario similar to the current Astana and Atlanta overlap — two major finals fighting for attention on the same day.
