PGL Expands CS2 Circuit With New Arena Event in Łódź for March 2027

PGL has officially revealed another addition to its growing Counter-Strike 2 tournament calendar, confirming that a new arena event will take place in Łódź in March 2027. The announcement further strengthens PGL’s long-term presence in the CS2 ecosystem as the organizer continues expanding its independent international circuit beyond the Major Championship schedule.

The event is set to become one of PGL’s headline tournaments for the first half of 2027 and will mark another major Counter-Strike LAN hosted in Poland, a country with deep roots in the history of the game’s esports scene. While full tournament details such as participating teams, format, venue capacity, and prize pool have not yet been disclosed, the announcement confirms that Łódź will serve as the host city for the March competition.

The move continues PGL’s aggressive expansion strategy following the company’s transition toward a larger independent tournament ecosystem after Valve’s changes to the competitive circuit model. In recent years, PGL has significantly increased the number of standalone Counter-Strike events on its calendar, organizing tournaments across multiple regions while also remaining one of the primary hosts of Valve-sponsored Majors.

Poland has historically been one of Counter-Strike’s strongest esports markets, previously hosting iconic international events including the legendary Major in Kraków in 2017. The return of another large-scale PGL event to the country is expected to generate major interest from the local fanbase, especially considering Poland’s longstanding connection with elite Counter-Strike competition.

The Łódź announcement also comes during a busy period for PGL’s Counter-Strike operations. The organizer recently hosted PGL Astana 2026 and has continued unveiling future events as part of its multi-year roadmap. PGL has already secured several notable international destinations for upcoming tournaments, including events planned for Singapore and other major esports markets through 2027.

The continued expansion reflects the increasingly competitive landscape among CS2 tournament organizers. With companies such as ESL, BLAST, and PGL all developing large-scale global circuits, organizers are racing to secure premier arena locations and establish recurring destinations for flagship Counter-Strike events.

For PGL specifically, the addition of Łódź further reinforces Eastern and Central Europe as a key region within its event strategy. The organizer already has strong ties to the region through previous tournaments in Romania, Kazakhstan, and Poland, and the March 2027 event appears set to continue that trend.
