PARIVISION’s Coach Dastan on Discipline, Development and Big Tournament Success

PARIVISION’s Coach Dastan on Discipline, Development and Big Tournament Success
PARIVISION’s head coach Dastan “dastan” Akbayev offered an in-depth look at his approach to leadership in a recent interview ahead of the BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 1 Finals. The 32-year-old Kazakh coach — known for blending a supportive team atmosphere with strict discipline — has been instrumental in shaping one of CS2’s most talked-about rising squads.
PARIVISION entered the BLAST Bounty Finals as underdogs but produced a remarkable run in Malta. After overcoming Spirit in a hard-fought quarter-final and defeating FURIA in the semifinals, the team capped their success with a 3-0 sweep of Team Falcons in the grand final. This result earned PARIVISION the BLAST Bounty Season 1 championship, marking the team’s first Tier-1 title since its formation.
In his comments, Dastan explained why he emphasizes discipline, especially in critical moments of play. He highlighted that while the team atmosphere off the server is relaxed and friendly — the players train and joke together in bootcamp — when it comes to poor in-game situations, he deliberately pushes for strict adherence to fundamentals. According to Dastan, “every bad situation will cost us in the future,” and it’s better to address errors directly between matches than let them undermine performance later.
His leadership seems especially effective with PARIVISION’s young and hungry roster. The team includes rising talent like Emil “nota” Moskvitin and Vladislav “xiELO” Lysov, alongside veteran counter-strike figure Dzhami “Jame” Ali. Jame, the team’s in-game leader, brings major championship pedigree to the lineup — he was MVP of the IEM Rio Major 2022 and remains a guiding presence for younger players.
Dastan touched specifically on how strictness helps less experienced players grasp core CS2 concepts. He noted that when the team lacked a full lineup last year and spent much of their time grinding online matches, enforcing fundamentals and structure was crucial. For players without extensive pro experience, knowing the basics and avoiding costly mistakes is the foundation of long-term growth.
Off the server, Dastan prefers a supportive demeanor. During matches, he aims to keep morale high, reinforcing fundamentals and decision-making rather than harsh criticisms. The balance between strict in-game expectations and encouragement at other times has helped PARIVISION build a cohesive unit capable of producing consistent results on LAN.
A key part of PARIVISION’s recent evolution was the addition of Ivan “zweih” Gogin, a talented 18-year-old rifler who joined in late 2025. Dastan acknowledged that bringing zweih into the squad was an exciting development, especially given the player’s raw skill and adaptability. According to Dastan, having a strong organizational structure and no external pressure allows young talents like zweih to flourish without fear of immediate backlash — which can often damage confidence early in a career.
The team’s recent run reflects that philosophy: PARIVISION entered the BLAST Bounty Finals world ranking around #17, yet managed to defeat multiple top-tier opponents, including FURIA and Falcons, showcasing both mechanical skill and team discipline.
Many players in the locker room have publicly credited Dastan’s role in their development. For example, teammate Andrey “BELCHONOKK” Yasinskiy noted that Dastan’s preparation put the team in the right mental state for intense, high-pressure scenarios — sometimes even more so than at a Major event itself. According to Belchonokk, the coach’s intensity and high expectations were key factors behind their semifinal success and overall growth during the past year.
Looking ahead, PARIVISION’s goal remains ambitious but grounded. Dastan stated that the organization wants to become a consistent top-10 to top-12 team globally, capable of attending every major event and competing at the highest level. However, he also acknowledged that tournament experience — more than anything — will accelerate their development. There are no shortcuts to learning how to perform under pressure, and playing together through diverse competitive situations is the best teacher.
The BLAST Bounty title could therefore serve as a significant milestone, not just a trophy. It validates the coaching methods and reinforces the culture of discipline mixed with support that Dastan has been building. For a team without established superstars and with several players early in their careers, this balance could be the key to sustainable success in the evolving CS2 competitive landscape.
