Olofmeister learns about HLTV Hall of Fame induction in surprise meeting with legends

Swedish Counter-Strike icon Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer has been selected for the HLTV Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025, joining fellow inductees Yegor “markeloff” Markelov and Raphael “cogu” Camargo. The trio will be officially honored during the HLTV Awards 2025 ceremony, scheduled for January 10, 2026, in Belgrade, Serbia.

A surprise from Potti and GeT_RiGhT

In a short feature produced by HLTV, Kajbjer was invited to what appeared to be a standard interview. Instead, he was greeted by Swedish legends Tommy “Potti” Ingemarsson and Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund, both members of the inaugural 2024 Hall of Fame class. The two surprised him by revealing his induction before the announcement was made public on November 9.

HLTV presented the moment as welcoming “a future Hall of Famer,” showcasing his emotional reaction to the news.

With this recognition, olofmeister becomes the fifth Swedish player to join the Hall of Fame, following HeatoN, Potti, f0rest, and GeT_RiGhT, and the seventh inductee overall since the Hall’s creation.

What is the HLTV Hall of Fame?

Launched in 2024, the HLTV Hall of Fame honors players who made a lasting impact on Counter-Strike’s competitive history. Each year, HLTV inducts 3–5 players during the annual awards ceremony.

Each Hall of Famer receives:

A special induction segment at the awards show

A custom engraved Rolex

A dedicated HLTV career video

A permanent place on the official Hall of Fame page

The inaugural 2024 class consisted entirely of Swedish legends: HeatoN, Potti, f0rest, and GeT_RiGhT.

For the 2025 induction cycle, HLTV shortlisted 10 nominees, including olofmeister, SpawN, dupreeh, kennyS, and element. A panel of 11 experts voted to select the final three inductees.

Why olofmeister?

Peak dominance with fnatic

According to HLTV’s Hall of Fame profile, 2015 was olofmeister’s defining year. He was ranked the best player in the world, powering fnatic through a legendary season that included ten LAN titles and two consecutive Major championships.

His most significant achievements include:

HLTV #1 player of 2015, and Top 20 placements in 2014, 2016, and 2017

Two Major titles and one Major MVP award

Over 95 premier LAN events played and around 25 trophies earned with fnatic and FaZe

Widespread recognition as one of the most iconic players in Counter-Strike history

The Overpass graffiti moment

One of the most memorable moments in his career occurred at ESL One Cologne 2014 against Dignitas, when olofmeister completed a legendary bomb defuse on Overpass while standing in a burning molotov. Valve later commemorated the moment with an in-game graffiti — the first time a single CS:GO play was immortalized this way.

This and many other highlights across maps like Cache, Inferno, and Mirage solidified his status as a player capable of defining eras and performing under immense pressure.

Reinventing himself in FaZe

After his fnatic era, a wrist injury reduced his raw fragging power, yet he remained an elite competitor. He placed #8 in 2016 and #19 in 2017 in HLTV’s Top 20 rankings.
During his time in FaZe Clan, he evolved into a more supportive and tactical role, trusted to anchor sites, enable star players, and bring stability to the roster.

Olofmeister’s professional career spanned 2010–2021, representing teams such as LGB, fnatic, and FaZe. Born on January 31, 1992, he is widely regarded as one of Sweden’s greatest esports athletes.

Reactions from pros and Hall of Famers

The esports scene has largely praised the induction:

  • The HLTV Awards team described him as “one of the greatest riflers of all time, the crown jewel of one of the most dominant teams ever.”

  • Former NiP and SK star walle stated that no one should dispute that olofmeister belongs in the Hall of Fame, calling him “one of the nicest guys” in the scene.

  • CS 1.6 legend SpawN congratulated all three inductees, endorsing the Class of 2025.

Analysts frequently highlight his versatility, noting that few players could switch between entry, lurking, clutching, and anchoring at the highest level as seamlessly as he did.

Debate around the timing

Some community members questioned whether the induction came too early, arguing that additional CS 1.6 legends — such as SpawN, elemeNt, XeqtR, or fisker — deserved recognition first. Others pointed out that Hall of Fame rules exclude active players, while olofmeister had still been listed under FaZe in recent years despite not actively competing.

Still, even those expressing reservations acknowledge him as a massive legend whose peak and influence are undeniable.
