NiKo Reveals Team Falcons’ Biggest Problem After Another CS2 Playoff Failure
Nikola Kovač has opened up about the biggest issue preventing Team Falcons from winning trophies in Counter-Strike 2, admitting the team continues to collapse once playoff matches begin.
Despite building one of the most expensive and talented rosters in CS2, Falcons have struggled to convert strong group-stage performances into championships throughout the 2026 season.
Speaking in a recent Falcons vlog, NiKo explained that the team’s inability to perform under playoff pressure has become its defining weakness.
“It sucks that we didn’t manage to win any single game in playoffs so far this season,” NiKo said.
According to the Bosnian superstar, Falcons have looked convincing during practice sessions and earlier tournament stages, but their level drops significantly in arena matches.
Falcons Continue to Struggle in CS2 Playoffs
Falcons’ playoff problems have followed the team across several major CS2 tournaments this year.
At PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026, Falcons were eliminated by PARIVISION in the quarter-finals after another disappointing series defeat.
The same scenario repeated at BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026, where PARIVISION once again knocked Falcons out of the playoffs.
After that loss, NiKo admitted Falcons still had not figured out how to consistently beat PARIVISION’s system.
“The plan didn’t work,” NiKo said following the series.
The team also suffered a painful defeat against Team Spirit during the playoffs of IEM Rio 2026.
Although Falcons defeated Team Vitality earlier in the event, they were outclassed by Spirit in the semi-finals and managed to win only 11 rounds across two maps.
NiKo later praised Spirit’s aggressive approach while admitting Falcons looked uncomfortable under pressure.
“Spirit were way more aggressive, unpredictable, and hard to read,” NiKo explained.
Falcons Roster Expected to Compete for CS2 Titles
The disappointing playoff results are especially surprising considering the star power on Falcons’ roster.
The organization invested heavily into building a superteam around NiKo, with players such as:
Ilya Osipov
Damjan Stoilkovski
Maksim Lukin
Earlier this season, NiKo said the lineup had enough firepower to become one of the strongest teams in CS2 once everything “clicked.”
However, Falcons continue to fall short in high-pressure playoff environments despite showing flashes of elite form during group stages.
PARIVISION Continue to Be Falcons’ Kryptonite
PARIVISION have become one of Falcons’ biggest obstacles in 2026.
After another victory over Falcons, PARIVISION players confidently stated they believed they were simply the better team.
The rivalry has quickly become one of the most discussed storylines in the current CS2 competitive scene, especially as Falcons repeatedly fail to overcome the same opponent during crucial playoff matches.
Can Falcons Finally Solve Their CS2 Playoff Issues?
While Falcons remain capable of beating top-tier opponents like Vitality, their inability to deliver in playoffs continues to raise serious concerns.
NiKo’s comments highlight a growing mental and tactical issue within the roster — one that could define the team’s entire season if results do not improve soon.
For now, Falcons no longer need to prove they can reach playoffs.
They need to prove they can win them.
