New CS2 Patch on September 24 Fixes Movement Glitches, Clipping Issues
On September 24, 2025, Valve rolled out a new Counter-Strike 2 update that addresses several movement-related bugs and map clipping errors. The patch includes fixes for problems that prevented players from moving when moving the mouse, and an issue in which walking up ramps resulted in unusually low velocity. On the map side, Ancient and Train have seen clipping corrections in key areas.
Key Fixes
A bug where players couldn’t start moving while “wiggling” the mouse has been resolved.
Movement slowdown when ascending ramps has been addressed.
In Ancient’s “A Main” stair area, shots moving through foliage without obstruction have been corrected.
Clipping fixes on Ancient and Train ensure better collision behavior.
This update is Valve’s ninth in September as the dev team continues to patch gameplay-affecting issues. Earlier in the month, on September 19, they fixed inconsistencies in weapon spray patterns introduced by the “Show Off” update.
Esports Implications & Player Criticism
Because movement and collision behavior are central to competitive balance, these fixes are expected to have a meaningful impact on CS2’s esports scene. The patch arrives just days before ESL Pro League Season 22, putting pressure on Valve to stabilize match-critical mechanics.
That said, not all reported bugs were explicitly mentioned in Valve’s patch notes, and one persistent issue remains — a bug that hinders counter-strafing when crouch-peeking. This bug can “trap players in fights they would typically be able to evade” by limiting movement fluidity.
Player Feedback & Reaction
Professional players have publicly voiced frustration about past updates, particularly the Show Off patch, which altered subtick behavior and impacted spray feel. Nikola “NiKo” Kovač tersely remarked:
“How can they make [the] game feel even worse every f**king time”
İsmailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş added:
“This update completely destroyed the spray. CS feels broken and ridiculous now.”
In relation to movement issues, Robin “ropz” Kool also gave glimpses of his experience:
“Been happening to me on all maps, it’s a new feature.”
However, not all reactions are entirely negative. Some community voices have cautiously welcomed the fixes. On Reddit, patch notes for the September 24 update were noted:
“Fixed a case where you couldn’t start moving while wiggling the mouse. Fixed a case where velocity was abnormally low while walking up ramps.”
Some users argue, though, that the fixes aren’t perfect:
“Lol they didn’t fix shit, I just tested it.”
Overall, the community remains wary — changes have been frequent, and even fixes can introduce new side effects.
