Nemiga reach Stake Ranked Episode 4 final unbeaten as Astralis and Luminosity fight for the last spot

Nemiga reach Stake Ranked Episode 4 final unbeaten as Astralis and Luminosity fight for the last spot

Nemiga have secured their place in the Stake Ranked Episode 4 grand final after beating Luminosity 2–0, extending their perfect tournament run to three series and six maps. Astralis and Luminosity remain in contention for the other final berth, with their consolidation final already underway on October 4.

The two challengers have taken different routes to the deciding day. Luminosity advanced through the upper bracket before losing to Nemiga, while Astralis recovered from an opening defeat by winning three consecutive elimination matches.

Two series will decide the trophy in Barcelona

Stake Ranked Episode 4 runs from October 1–4 in Barcelona, Spain, with eight teams competing for a $100,000 prize pool. The double-elimination bracket uses best-of-three series until the best-of-five grand final.

Match times below are listed in UTC. The consolidation final is in progress; the grand final’s second participant remains undecided.

Date Time UTC Match Stage Format Status
October 4 12:00 Luminosity vs Astralis Consolidation final BO3 In progress
October 4 15:30 Nemiga vs TBD Grand final BO5 Scheduled

The consolidation-final winner advances to face Nemiga, while the loser finishes third. The champion receives $25,000, the runner-up $17,500 and the third-place team $13,500.

Nemiga’s unbeaten run has included several close finishes

Nemiga opened with a 2–0 victory over FaZe, followed by another sweep against Alliance. Their upper-bracket final against Luminosity preserved that unbeaten record, but both maps were competitive.

All map scores in the following tables are shown from the first-listed team’s perspective.

Date Match Result Map scores Stage
October 1 Nemiga vs FaZe 2–0 Mirage 16–12, Ancient 13–11 Upper quarterfinal
October 2 Nemiga vs Alliance 2–0 Cache 13–6, Ancient 13–8 Upper semifinal
October 3 Nemiga vs Luminosity 2–0 Cache 13–11, Dust2 16–13 Upper final

Against FaZe, Nemiga recovered from a 3–9 halftime deficit on Mirage before winning in overtime. Against Luminosity, they overturned a 7–10 deficit on Cache and needed overtime to close Dust2.

Their 6–0 map record therefore reflects both convincing wins and an ability to survive difficult stretches. Four of those six maps ended either in overtime or with a 13–11 score.

Astralis have survived three consecutive elimination matches

Astralis’ opening loss to Alliance left them facing an early exit. They responded by eliminating FaZe, BIG and fnatic, with their most convincing performance coming at the end of that recovery.

Date Match Result Map scores Stage
October 1 Astralis vs Alliance 1–2 Inferno 14–16, Cache 13–5, Nuke 10–13 Upper quarterfinal
October 2 Astralis vs FaZe 2–1 Ancient 13–11, Nuke 11–13, Cache 13–9 Lower round 1
October 3 Astralis vs BIG 2–1 Cache 13–5, Inferno 11–13, Mirage 13–1 Lower semifinal
October 3 Astralis vs fnatic 2–0 Dust2 13–6, Ancient 13–3 Lower final

The sweep of fnatic saw Astralis concede only nine rounds across two maps. That followed a similarly decisive 13–1 Mirage finish against BIG, giving them stronger recent performances than their two earlier three-map victories alone would suggest.

Luminosity still have a route back to Nemiga

Luminosity beat B8 in their opener and recovered from losing Inferno against BIG to win the upper semifinal. Nemiga then handed them their first series defeat.

Date Match Result Map scores Stage
October 1 Luminosity vs B8 2–0 Inferno 13–11, Mirage 13–10 Upper quarterfinal
October 2 Luminosity vs BIG 2–1 Inferno 9–13, Cache 13–5, Mirage 16–13 Upper semifinal
October 3 Luminosity vs Nemiga 0–2 Cache 11–13, Dust2 13–16 Upper final

Their two Mirage victories provide a useful reference for the Astralis match. Their latest meeting with Nemiga also offers grounds for a competitive rematch: Luminosity lost both maps narrowly, although they still need to clear the consolidation final first.

The records below cover completed matches through October 3.

Metric Nemiga Astralis Luminosity
Series record 3–0 3–1 2–1
Map record 6–0 7–4 4–3
Maps played 6 11 7
Consecutive series wins 3 3 0

Astralis have already played five more maps than Nemiga. If they reach the grand final, they will have completed another BO3 before taking on an opponent whose place was secured on October 3.

phzy leads Astralis’ latest surge, while robo delivers for Nemiga

The following statistics cover each team’s most recent completed series: Nemiga and Luminosity’s upper final, and Astralis’ lower final against fnatic. They are series figures rather than tournament averages.

jabbi Astralis fnatic 27–16 77.8 77.1% 1.26
HooXi Astralis fnatic 17–17 53.4 82.9% 1.08

phzy’s +25 kill differential and 117.9 ADR were central to Astralis’ dominant sweep. Staehr also exceeded 100 ADR, showing that the damage output extended beyond one player.

Nemiga received strong contributions from robo, syph0 and Xant3r. Luminosity’s afro finished positive despite the defeat, but all four of his teammates ended with negative kill differentials.

Mirage and Cache shape the consolidation final

The confirmed veto puts Luminosity’s Mirage pick first, followed by Astralis’ Cache pick, with Nuke available as the decider.

The figures below cover the current lineup cores over the previous three months. The samples remain small, particularly on Mirage.

Map Luminosity win rate Maps played Astralis win rate Maps played
Mirage 100% 5 50% 4
Cache 25% 4 82% 11
Nuke 50% 6 22% 9

Those records help explain the picks. Luminosity enter Mirage with an unbeaten five-map sample, while Astralis have the stronger Cache record and have won all three of their Cache appearances at this tournament.

Astralis removed Dust2 despite their convincing win over fnatic on it. Their confirmed selection prioritises Cache, where they have beaten Alliance, FaZe and BIG in Barcelona.

Nemiga now await either a rematch with Luminosity or their first meeting with Astralis at this event. The BO5 final will test more of their map pool than any previous series in Barcelona, with their unbeaten run and the trophy both on the line.
