NAVI Win IEM Atlanta 2026 as Aleksib Sends Message to Vitality Ahead of CS2 Major

NAVI are officially back on top of Counter-Strike 2 after dominating GamerLegion in the grand final of IEM Atlanta 2026. Led by Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, Natus Vincere secured a convincing 3-0 victory to claim one of the biggest CS2 trophies of the season and continue their rise ahead of the upcoming Major.

The victory marks NAVI’s second major title of 2026 and strengthens their position among the best CS2 teams in the world alongside Team Vitality, Team Spirit, Falcons, and MOUZ.

NAVI Defeat GamerLegion to Win IEM Atlanta 2026

NAVI swept GamerLegion in the best-of-five grand final, winning Mirage, Anubis, and Nuke. While the series ended 3-0, the final map turned into a dramatic comeback story.

GamerLegion nearly pushed the match to a fourth map after building momentum on Nuke and reaching match point. However, NAVI recovered late in regulation, forced overtime, and closed out the championship in dominant fashion.

Following the victory, NAVI captain Aleksib praised his team’s resilience and discipline under pressure.

“We never stopped believing,” Aleksib said after the match. “They got to match point, but we still had good rounds according to our game plan. Once we got to overtime, I knew we would win.”

The Finnish in-game leader emphasized that NAVI’s structured style and confidence helped the roster stay calm during the toughest moments of the final.

Aleksib: “A Trophy Doesn’t Feel Deserved Without Beating Vitality”

One of the biggest storylines of IEM Atlanta 2026 was NAVI finally defeating Team Vitality during their playoff run.

Before the tournament, Aleksib openly stated that he considered Vitality the strongest team in CS2 and suggested that winning trophies without beating them would not feel fully earned. NAVI answered that challenge in Atlanta by eliminating Vitality 2-1 in the quarterfinals.

After lifting the trophy, Aleksib repeated that the win over Vitality made the title especially meaningful.

“It’s an incredible feeling,” Aleksib explained. “I said before that I don’t think a trophy is deserved if you don’t beat Vitality. That’s why this one means so much.”

The statement immediately sparked discussion within the CS2 community, as NAVI and Vitality continue to develop one of the biggest rivalries of the current Counter-Strike era.

w0nderful Wins First HLTV MVP Award

Another huge milestone for NAVI came from AWPer Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov, who earned the first HLTV MVP medal of his career after an outstanding tournament performance.

The Ukrainian sniper finished IEM Atlanta 2026 with a 1.31 rating and completely dominated the grand final against GamerLegion. Across three maps, w0nderful posted a 60-34 K-D score and delivered multiple crucial rounds during NAVI’s comeback on Nuke.

Speaking after the event, w0nderful admitted the MVP award was an emotional moment for him.

“There were many chances before, but either I played badly in finals or we lost,” w0nderful said. “This is my first MVP, and I’m super happy.”

The performance further strengthens his reputation as one of the best AWP players in CS2 in 2026.

NAVI Send Warning Before the CS2 Major

Despite the dominant victory, Aleksib made it clear that NAVI are not underestimating the competition ahead of the next Major cycle.

The NAVI captain specifically mentioned Falcons, Team Spirit, and MOUZ as dangerous opponents capable of winning top-tier tournaments.

“We let our game speak for us,” Aleksib said. “People respect how we play, but we understand that Falcons, Spirit, MOUZ — every top team is dangerous. We need to be ready for everyone.”

With IEM Atlanta completed, NAVI now head toward the next major CS2 events with growing momentum and confidence. Their structured tactical style, improved individual form, and victory over Vitality suggest the team may once again become the biggest favorite for upcoming championships.
