NAVI Overtake Team Spirit in HLTV CS2 Ranking After ESL Pro League S23 Victory

Natus Vincere rise to No. 6 in the latest HLTV CS2 rankings, surpassing Team Spirit following their ESL Pro League Season 23 championship run.

NAVI Climb the HLTV Rankings After Trophy Win

Natus Vincere (NAVI) have officially overtaken Team Spirit in the latest HLTV Counter-Strike 2 world rankings update following their triumph at ESL Pro League Season 23.

In the March 16 ranking update, NAVI climbed to 6th place with 406 points, while Team Spirit dropped to 8th with 352 points. The top five teams remain unchanged, with Vitality continuing to dominate the global CS2 scene.

This ranking shift highlights NAVI’s resurgence after a shaky start to 2026, signaling a return to form for one of Counter-Strike’s most iconic organizations.

ESL Pro League Season 23: NAVI’s Turning Point

NAVI secured the ESL Pro League Season 23 title after defeating Aurora in a 3-1 grand final victory. The win marked their first Tier-1 trophy since IEM Rio 2024, ending a long drought at the highest level of competition.

Ukrainian AWPer w0nderful played a crucial role in the finals, delivering a standout performance with a 1.56 rating and multiple clutch rounds across the series.

After the match, NAVI rifler b1t humorously commented:

“No Vitality, easy win.”

The victory also puts NAVI into contention for the ESL Grand Slam Season VI, alongside top teams like Vitality, Team Spirit, and FURIA.

NAVI’s Comeback Story in 2026

Earlier this year, NAVI faced criticism due to inconsistent results and questions about roster stability. However, head coach B1ad3 remained confident in the lineup.

In previous interviews, he emphasized the team’s long-term potential:

“We believed that this season we would have a lot of potential to be a trophy contender.”

He also acknowledged key issues:

“Some losses came from a lack of firepower.”

Despite those challenges, NAVI’s ESL Pro League win proves that the team has successfully unlocked its potential and can compete with the world’s best.

Team Spirit Struggle for Consistency

While NAVI are on the rise, Team Spirit are experiencing a dip in form. Their early exit from ESL Pro League Season 23 — losing to Astralis in the quarterfinals — contributed to their drop in the rankings.

Spirit’s current struggles are partly linked to internal adjustments. Player tN1R recently explained that the roster is still evolving:

“It looks like an old roster, but in reality it’s a completely new team.”

Star player donk also highlighted a shift in mentality within the squad:

“I became more mature and now I’m thinking about winning the game as a team, not as a star player.”

These comments suggest that Spirit are still adapting, which may explain their inconsistent performances in early 2026.

What This Means for the CS2 Competitive Scene

NAVI’s rise and Spirit’s decline underline how competitive the CS2 ecosystem has become in 2026. With multiple elite teams battling for position behind Vitality, the rankings remain highly volatile.

NAVI’s victory could mark the beginning of a new era of consistency, while Team Spirit still have time to stabilize and reclaim their place among the elite.

With upcoming Tier-1 tournaments on the horizon, the fight for top rankings in CS2 is far from over.
