Legacy are not interested in limiting their ambitions to the Brazilian hierarchy. After another victory over FURIA sent his team directly into the FISSURE Playground 3 semi-finals, Vinicius “n1ssim” Pereira made that clear: the target is not to become Brazil’s best team, but to challenge for the top spot globally.

“I don’t care about the top one Americas or top one Brazilian team,” n1ssim told HLTV. “I just want to be top one.”

And then the Legacy CEO asked me to come back, and I was doing nothing at home, so I just came back.”

What could have marked the end of his time with Legacy instead became something closer to a reset.

“We’ve been really pretty good. I think when I came back, I came back with another mindset about my gameplay,” he said. “So I think I’ve been playing much better, and I’m helping the team. And with the try addition, I think it helps me too. So I think, yeah, we are a solid team right now.”

Asked directly whether stepping away helped him start fresh, n1ssim agreed.

“Yeah, yeah. For me, I think it’s [the case] as well. I think when I stepped out and stepped back in again, I came back with another mindset.”

There was evidence of that impact against FURIA. n1ssim posted 30 kills to 26 deaths, 81.7 ADR and a 1.30 rating across the two maps. On Ancient, he led Legacy statistically with a 1.46 rating as they closed the series 13-9.

Legacy control the second half against FURIA

The 2-0 scoreline was not simply the result of comfortable starts.

Both Mirage and Ancient reached halftime at 6-6. Legacy then took control after the side switch, winning seven of the next eight rounds on Mirage and seven of ten on Ancient.

latto finished as Legacy’s highest-rated player across the series with a 1.34 rating and a 37-19 K-D record. n1ssim followed at 1.30, while arT posted 1.23 and try 1.18. Every Legacy player finished the series with a positive overall K-D except none — all five ended above parity.
