MOUZ Clinch Bronze at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 After Convincing Win Over The MongolZ

MOUZ Take Third Place in Cluj-Napoca with Strong Performance Against The MongolZ
At the PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 Counter-Strike 2 tournament in Romania, MOUZ finished third by defeating The MongolZ 2–0 in the third-place decider on February 22, 2026. This result saw the European squad claim the final podium spot after a challenging event against top competition.
The best-of-three series began on Mirage, The MongolZ’s map choice, but MOUZ quickly imposed their will. Behind standout play from Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin, who posted a tournament-leading impact and 1.44 rating on the map, MOUZ controlled the pace. The Europeans led 7–5 at halftime and rolled to a convincing 13–6 win, leveraging strong tactical reads and disciplined execution.
On Inferno, MOUZ extended their advantage to 8–4 before The MongolZ responded with a five-round streak to briefly take a 9–8 lead. However, MOUZ regained momentum and ultimately sealed the map 13–10, closing out the series. A key late retake and last-second defuse ended The MongolZ’s hopes of forcing further rounds.
Individually, MOUZ’s torzsi starred with a 35–18 stat line and a 1.34 rating, while Spinx and xertioN also posted influential performances throughout the match.
Road to the Bronze Match
Prior to the third-place decider, MOUZ advanced past the quarterfinal stage by defeating Natus Vincere in a thrilling 2–1 encounter, overcoming an Ancient map loss to win on both Inferno and Mirage.
In the semifinals, MOUZ’s run was halted by PARIVISION, who booked their spot in the grand final with a 2–0 win. PARIVISION’s tactical discipline and consistent firepower kept MOUZ on the back foot, dropping the European roster to the lower bracket where they would contest for third place.
Coach & Team Reflections
MOUZ coach Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen expressed mixed feelings after the tournament. While satisfied with some of the team’s performances, he noted that falling short of the grand final was disappointing. He also highlighted the leadership and gameplay impact of Brollan throughout the event.
