m0NESY on karrigan at Falcons: “I Feel Like a Fish in Water” as CS2 Superteam Shows Early Promise

Team Falcons star Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov has opened up about working with legendary in-game leader Finn “karrigan” Andersen, praising the veteran captain’s system, leadership style and impact on the team’s atmosphere after Falcons’ recent CS2 roster changes.

Speaking during the Russian YouTube show Cyber Kakletka, the young AWPer explained that adapting to karrigan’s approach came naturally almost immediately.

“He brings a lot of vibe. After the first practice, I already understood how he wants to call. In his style, I feel like a fish in water,” m0NESY said.

The comments come shortly after Falcons officially signed karrigan from FaZe Clan, reuniting him with longtime former teammate Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen in one of the most high-profile CS2 roster projects of 2026.

Falcons’ New CS2 Roster Built Around karrigan, NiKo and m0NESY

The addition of karrigan marked a major shift for Team Falcons as the organization continues building a championship-caliber Counter-Strike 2 lineup.

The current Falcons roster includes:

  • Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov
  • Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
  • Finn “karrigan” Andersen
  • René “TeSeS” Madsen
  • Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin

According to multiple interviews, Falcons viewed karrigan as the ideal long-term IGL option because of his experience, structure and ability to maximize star players.

NiKo previously told HLTV that the organization had very few realistic captain choices available.

“There aren’t many IGLs we would’ve taken. Basically it was only karrigan or no one else.”

m0NESY and karrigan Partnership Already Delivering Results

Early tournament performances suggest the new Falcons lineup may already be finding chemistry faster than expected.

At PGL Astana 2026, Falcons reached the grand final in karrigan’s debut event with the team. Although they lost the final to Team Spirit, the roster showed strong coordination and aggressive mid-round calling throughout the tournament.

M0NESY was one of the event’s standout performers, finishing with a 1.27 rating and delivering several clutch performances during Falcons’ playoff run.

Karrigan later admitted the team had only practiced together for around eight or nine days before the event.

“We are not ready yet for a best-of-five final,” karrigan said after the tournament.

Despite the loss, the veteran IGL described the result as a positive starting point for the new roster.

kyousuke and zonic Also Praise karrigan’s Leadership

Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin also highlighted the impact karrigan has had on Falcons’ environment since joining the squad.

“He’s incredible. I’m truly enjoying playing with him.”

According to kyousuke, karrigan immediately improved both the team atmosphere and Falcons’ mid-round structure — two areas that had previously been criticized by analysts during earlier Falcons lineups.

Head coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen echoed similar thoughts in a separate HLTV interview, explaining that one of his main priorities was giving karrigan full control over the team’s tactical direction.

“My main goal has really been to give him the keys to the ship,” zonic said.

The Danish coach added that karrigan quickly implemented new T-side ideas while allowing NiKo and m0NESY more individual freedom on CT sides.

Can Falcons Become the Best CS2 Team in the World?

The arrival of karrigan has significantly increased expectations around Falcons’ CS2 project. With elite firepower from NiKo and m0NESY combined with karrigan’s proven leadership, many analysts already consider Falcons one of the most dangerous teams in Counter-Strike 2.

Karrigan is widely regarded as one of the greatest IGLs in CS history after leading FaZe Clan to victories at PGL Major Antwerp 2022, IEM Cologne and Intel Grand Slam events.

Meanwhile, m0NESY continues to strengthen his reputation as one of the best AWPers in CS2, with many fans viewing him as a future world No. 1 player.

While Falcons still need time to fully develop synergy, the early reactions from players inside the team suggest the new project is already moving in the right direction.
