Liquid eliminated TYLOO in FISSURE Playground 2, moving them a big step closer to securing an invite to the StarLadder Budapest Major. The win gave Liquid 101 VRS points, pushing them into the “invite range” for Stage 1, according to the predicted global standings. 

This victory doesn’t finish Liquid’s work, though. They are now only one series away from reaching the playoffs of the event. It’s also their final opportunity to earn VRS points in a Tier‑one LAN before the October 6 ranking cut‑off. Teams below them still have a few events remaining where they can catch up.

Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek, Liquid’s in‑game leader, reflected on their mindset after their earlier losses in the group stage:

“Every little win that we have now, we’ll take it for sure,” he said in a post‑match broadcast interview. “We had a good talk as a team after the second loss here, and we set some rules for ourselves, some good pathways for the future about how we want to approach the next few games, and I think that helped us a lot.” 

On TYLOO’s side, YuanZhang “Attacker” Sheng was candid about their performance:

“We’re in a slump,” he admitted in the post‑match broadcast. He also offered an apology: “… for his team’s performance.”

The series vs. TYLOO was a Best-of‑Three in the Swiss round (round 4) of FISSURE Playground 2. Liquid won 2‑1. 

On the last map, Mirage, Liquid barely edged TYLOO (13‑10), showing resilience after being down at certain points. Kyle “Twistzz” Van Dulken in particular helped turn things around for Liquid. 

TYLOO had shown promise at times — for example, they punished Liquid’s early defence on Ancient and had strong CT sides, led in large part by Qianhao “Moseyuh” Chen. But Liquid were able to pull through. 

Broader Context

• Liquid’s current standing in the VRS (World ranking system) is approaching the threshold for direct invites to the Budapest Major. They needed this kind of win. 

• Their next match, also in FISSURE Playground 2, is essentially make‑or‑break when it comes to securing a spot. Their rival upcoming match is against FaZe, which is especially significant because Twistzz will leave Liquid after this event. 

• Earlier, Liquid also eliminated HEROIC, earning 90 VRS points in that match; that win helped them avoid falling even further behind.
