kyxsan Calls Falcons Bench Decision “Unfair” After CS2 Roster Change
Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski has finally spoken out about his removal from the Falcons CS2 roster, calling the organization’s decision “unfair” after what he described as promises of a long-term project.
The former Falcons in-game leader addressed the situation during a lengthy appearance on Half Time CS with K Bizzy, where he revealed that the team had been assured they would receive enough time to develop before any drastic Counter-Strike 2 roster changes were made.
“We were promised time,” kyxsan said during the interview.
The comments immediately sparked discussion across the CS2 community, especially after Falcons replaced kyxsan with veteran IGL Finn “karrigan” Andersen shortly before major tournament commitments.
kyxsan Speaks About Falcons Removal
Falcons officially benched kyxsan following the team’s run at IEM Rio 2026, ending a 16-month period with the organization. Despite several strong finishes, including a victory at PGL Bucharest and multiple grand final appearances, Falcons failed to establish themselves as the dominant force many expected after assembling a star-studded lineup.
According to kyxsan, the roster move came without warning.
The North Macedonian leader claimed there had been no serious discussions regarding his future before management informed him of the decision during the Rio event. He also admitted the timing heavily affected him mentally during the tournament.
The Falcons player explained that sleep issues and uncertainty surrounding his future made competing under pressure significantly harder.
Falcons Replace kyxsan With karrigan
Shortly after benching kyxsan, Falcons confirmed the signing of legendary Danish IGL karrigan from FaZe Clan.
The move reunited karrigan with Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen, creating one of the most experienced leadership cores in professional Counter-Strike.
After joining the roster, karrigan publicly stated:
“Let’s make history.”
The new-look Falcons lineup immediately attracted massive attention in the CS2 esports scene, with many analysts calling the transfer one of the biggest roster moves of 2026.
Falcons Show Early Improvement With New Roster
Falcons quickly reached the grand final at PGL Astana after karrigan’s arrival, despite having less than two weeks of practice together.
Following the event, karrigan admitted the team was still far from fully prepared.
“We only had eight or nine days of practice,” he explained after the tournament.
Meanwhile, René “TeSeS” Madsen praised the impact of the new IGL, saying that playing with karrigan in difficult moments was “such a joy” because of the confidence and structure he brings to the team.
The strong early results have intensified debate around whether Falcons made the correct decision to remove kyxsan before the Austin Major cycle.
kyxsan Believes Falcons Needed More Time
Despite the disappointing exit, kyxsan maintained that the previous Falcons project was moving in the right direction.
Under his leadership, the roster consistently reached playoffs and remained competitive against the world’s best CS2 teams. Falcons also made several deep tournament runs during the season, showing flashes of championship potential.
According to statistics referenced during the interview, the roster won 76 out of 121 maps and reached three grand finals during its active period.
While disappointed, kyxsan emphasized there is “no bad blood” between himself and the organization.
Still, he believes the lineup deserved more patience before such a major Counter-Strike roster change was made.

Why the kyxsan Bench Story Matters
The kyxsan situation highlights the growing pressure inside top-tier CS2 organizations, where immediate results often outweigh long-term roster development.
Falcons invested heavily into building a championship contender around NiKo, m0NESY, and zonic, making every tournament result critically important.
With the Austin Major approaching, all eyes are now on whether the karrigan-led version of Falcons can succeed where the previous lineup fell short.
