Kyousuke Credits zonic for Game Plan Guidance as Falcons Continue CS2 Rebuild

Team Falcons CS2 rifler Maxim “kyousuke” Lukin has spoken about the impact of head coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen on his adaptation to the roster, highlighting how the legendary coach helps him refine his playstyle and avoid becoming predictable for opponents.

The comments come amid increased attention on Falcons’ long-term CS2 project, which has faced scrutiny due to role changes and inconsistent results at top-tier tournaments.

Kyousuke: “zonic helps me understand how opponents read me”

In a recent interview, kyousuke explained that zonic’s main contribution lies in game-planning and pattern recognition, rather than just basic tactical calls.

According to the young rifler, the coach actively analyzes how enemies respond to his tendencies and adjusts his approach accordingly:

“zonic helped me adapt in the team so that I feel good. He helps me with the game plan. He tells me where I’m being read and where I’m not. He explains what patterns I have and how I should play so opponents can’t adapt to me.”

This type of individualized coaching has become increasingly important in CS2, where demo analysis and opponent preparation play a major role at elite events.

Falcons’ current situation: adaptation over instant results

Falcons’ lineup rebuild has involved multiple role changes alongside kyousuke’s integration, which head coach zonic previously acknowledged publicly.

He admitted that the staff prioritized kyousuke’s comfort, even if it temporarily affected overall structure:

“The main objective was to make him feel as comfortable as possible. We succeeded with that, but at the same time, we had other players like NiKo and TeSeS adapting to new roles.”

The effects of these adjustments were visible during IEM Cologne, where Falcons struggled for consistency despite strong individual performances from kyousuke.

Organization shuts down roster change rumors

Around the same period, speculation emerged about potential roster moves — including rumors of an in-game leader replacement.

Falcons’ owner Msdossary Aldossari addressed the situation directly, stating that the organization does not plan to make roster changes and fully trusts the current players and coaching staff.

His comments were supported by esports host James “BanKs” Banks, who publicly praised Falcons for showing patience instead of reacting emotionally to short-term results.

Players continue to praise zonic’s behind-the-scenes work

Kyousuke is not the only Falcons player to highlight zonic’s influence.

In earlier interviews, he emphasized that much of the coach’s contribution is invisible to fans:

“People don’t see what zonic does behind the scenes. Strategy work involves zonic, the assistant coach, Kyxsan, and NiKo together.”

Falcons AWPer Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov has also spoken positively about zonic, stating that the coach helped him adapt to a new system and playstyle after joining the team.

What this means for Falcons in CS2

Kyousuke’s comments reinforce Falcons’ long-term approach:
individual development, deeper tactical understanding, and patience rather than quick fixes.

As CS2 continues to evolve, Falcons appear committed to trusting zonic’s structured coaching philosophy — even if results take time to stabilize.
