Karrigan Reacts to Falcons’ PGL Astana 2026 Loss as Team Spirit Dominate Grand Final

Team Falcons captain Finn “karrigan” Andersen has shared his thoughts after the team finished second at PGL Astana 2026, describing the result as “acceptable” for a debut event with the organization’s new Counter-Strike 2 roster.

Falcons reached the grand final of one of the biggest CS2 tournaments of the spring season but were ultimately defeated 0-3 by Team Spirit, who delivered a dominant performance to secure the championship title. Despite the loss, karrigan remained positive about the squad’s future and confirmed the team would immediately continue its season at CS Asia Championships 2026.

Karrigan on Falcons’ First Tournament Together

Following the grand final, karrigan posted a short reaction on social media, saying that finishing second at the team’s first tournament together was a solid starting point.

The Danish in-game leader recently joined a revamped Falcons lineup featuring Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, René “TeSeS” Madsen and Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin. PGL Astana 2026 marked the roster’s first major LAN appearance together, making the grand final run an encouraging sign for Falcons fans.

According to reports surrounding the event, Falcons had limited preparation time before Astana, with the team still working on its map pool and in-game structure ahead of the playoffs.

With the victory, Spirit claimed the PGL Astana 2026 trophy and earned the top prize from the tournament’s $800,000 prize pool. The team completed the entire event without losing a single series, further cementing its status as one of the strongest CS2 teams in the world heading into the second half of 2026.

Donk and Team Spirit Continue Dominant CS2 Form

Danil “donk” Kryshkovets once again became the centerpiece of Spirit’s success. The superstar rifler delivered another MVP-level performance throughout the tournament and was later named the official MVP of PGL Astana 2026.

After the victory, Spirit player Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich praised donk’s level, calling him “some kind of god” following the grand final.

Boris “magixx” Vorobiev also highlighted the team’s rapid improvement after earlier roster adjustments, stating that Spirit are now playing “incredibly.” He later joked on social media that “Counter-Strike was saved today” after defeating Falcons in the final.

M0NESY Responds After Falcons’ Defeat

Falcons AWPer Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov also addressed the loss after the match. The young star apologized to supporters, congratulated Team Spirit on the victory and admitted the defeat was emotionally difficult.

“I don’t know what life is preparing me for, but I’m ready,” m0NESY wrote after the series.

Despite the disappointment, many analysts and fans viewed Falcons’ performance in Astana as a promising debut for the newly assembled superteam.

Falcons Prepare for CS Asia Championships 2026

While Team Spirit reportedly plan to skip CS Asia Championships 2026 in order to focus on preparation for the upcoming Major cycle, Falcons are expected to travel directly to China for their next event.

The tournament will provide another important test for karrigan’s roster as the team continues building chemistry around NiKo and m0NESY.

With one grand final already reached in their first appearance together, Falcons remain one of the most closely watched teams in competitive Counter-Strike 2.
