Jame on the Major race: “It has been too tough a year for expectations, so I’m not going to celebrate early”
PARIVISION’s captain Dzhami “Jame” Ali is attempting to stay grounded as his team sits on the edge of qualifying for the Major.
“I don’t even want to think about it,” Jame admitted when asked whether PARIVISION still had a chance to reach the Major. “It has been too tough a year for expectations, and every time things didn’t go according to plan. So I’m not going to celebrate too early.”
The team’s fate is now largely beyond their control: PARIVISION has no more scheduled matches ahead of the Major invitation deadline, while rivals such as Gentle Mates, OG, and HEROIC still have paths to overtake them for a spot.
Emotions after winning LanDaLan 3, and team development
Winning the LanDaLan 3 final against BetBoom gave Jame a moment to reflect on both the victory and what it means for the team’s trajectory.
“The emotions are overwhelming. For most, it might look like just another Moscow LAN, but for me it’s something more,” he said. “Because the young guys put in so much effort, and it paid off at this moment. I was holding back my emotions as much as possible.”
Though it’s not a Major title, Jame stressed that the win holds significance given the struggles the team has faced recently.
In reflecting on progress, he pointed out that many mistakes made during the match were forgiven in light of the result:
“They are young, inexperienced players, but very hardworking, talented, and united in believing… I won’t praise them too much. They did well.”
He also touched on how the team restructured its system after poor performance at Starladder, and entered the tournament with renewed preparation.
On rumors of a transfer to BIG & role speculation
Questions were raised about Jame’s future, particularly rumors linking him to BIG.
“As for moving to another team — I’m not thinking about that. My task is to justify the trust of the people who believed in me in this organization.”
He was also asked about PARIVISION’s strong victory over BetBoom on Overpass:
“I think we simply hadn’t played Overpass all this time … The praccs are proof of that, the guys show good understanding of micro-timings … So we're 100 % confident in Overpass.”
Recent struggles and Jame’s dual role burden
In a related interview, Jame recently acknowledged the strain of juggling multiple responsibilities in PARIVISION’s lineup.
“I feel sad because I played badly in the last two matches … it’s hard to juggle two roles,” he said.
He even floated the possibility of stepping away from the AWPer role in the future:
“It will be painful, but this is how the next chapter of my career could turn out … I will need strong star riflers … while I just mind game against the best IGLs in the world.”
He also voiced concerns about the VRS (Valve Ranking System) and its impact on his team’s chances:
“Everything works against us … Grinding won’t help us, you just need to win a tier-one or tier-two event to qualify for the Major.”
Background & career context
To situate these statements: Jame is a well-known figure in the Counter-Strike scene. He previously played for Virtus.pro / Outsiders, with which he won the IEM Rio Major 2022 and was named Major MVP.
In late 2024, he was moved to Virtus.pro’s bench after a disappointing run at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, among other poor showings. Then in January 2025, he joined PARIVISION, reuniting with some of his former teammates Qikert and dastan.
