Jame Guides Four Major Rookies to Stage 2: PARIVISION Knock Out Legacy in Double-OT Clash

PARIVISION clinch final Stage 2 berth over Legacy

At the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, PARIVISION secured the last available spot in Stage 2 after a dramatic double-overtime Dust2 decider against Legacy. The Russian-based side, led by veteran AWPer Dzhami "Jame" Ali, overcame 5-11 and 10-12 deficits to eliminate one of the stage’s early favorites.

Notably, PARIVISION entered the match as the only team in the Major composed of four rookies. Those inexperienced players — Emil "nota" Moskvitin, Vladislav "xiELO" Lysov, and Andrey "BELCHONOKK" Yasinskiy — were visibly nervous at times, especially on Dust2, despite showing more composure on Ancient and Inferno.

A bumpy ride to redemption

PARIVISION’s first map (Ancient) began with violent momentum after two clutches from Jame — a 1v3 pistol round and a 1v2 in the first gun round — that propelled them to an early 6-0 lead. However, Legacy mounted a comeback, largely thanks to strong multi-frags from their Cave lurker Bruno "latto" Rebelatto and impact plays from Vinicius "n1ssim" Pereira, narrowing the gap by halftime. Still, PARIVISION held on, and xiELO’s double kills closed out the map in their favor.

On Inferno, Legacy struck back with a dominating Banana hold, forcing PARIVISION — who had opted to start on T side — into futile attempts at breaking B. The Brazilian side closed out Inferno convincingly to force a decider on Dust2.

Dust2 proved chaotic. PARIVISION stumbled early: missed utility, errant sprays and shaky movement led to round losses, and the map tilted heavily in Legacy’s favor. At one point, Legacy held an 11-5 lead. Yet a double-AWP setup with Jame and xiELO reignited the comeback. BELCHONOKK delivered clutch multi-kills, forcing overtime after a 10-12 deficit. In the ensuing extra rounds, PARIVISION’s tenacity paid off — they forced a second overtime and finally cracked Legacy’s default setups to clinch the map.

Legacy’s fall from expectations

Legacy had entered the Major with solid credentials — winning the CS Asia Championships earlier and finishing second at PGL Bucharest — making them one of the favorites to sail through Stage 1. Their run began poorly with a loss to FlyQuest, but impressive wins over Rare Atom and Lynn Vision seemed to restore momentum. However, a loss to B8 pushed them into the 2-2 pool, where they met PARIVISION — and ultimately fell just short.

After the match, Legacy’s in-game leader Lucas "lux" Meneghini admitted the defeat stung. Despite an eventful season — from qualification to competitive results — they failed to capitalize on their opportunity, leaving with regrets.

What’s next

With PARIVISION advancing, they join the other seven teams that have qualified for Stage 2. The next phase kicks off with a packed opening day featuring 16 best-of-1 Swiss matches. As the event proceeds, fans will be watching to see whether PARIVISION — with this youthful roster — can maintain composure and prove their win over Legacy was no fluke.
