HEROIC Eliminate Gaimin Gladiators from Major Stage 1 as Brazilian Mix Falls Short

HEROIC kept their Major campaign alive by sweeping Gaimin Gladiators 2-0 and eliminating the Brazilian squad from Stage 1, bringing an abrupt end to one of the tournament’s most underwhelming runs.
The series highlighted the stark contrast between the two teams. While HEROIC demonstrated the structure and composure expected from a squad aiming to advance deeper into the event, Gaimin Gladiators once again struggled to translate individual experience into competitive success.
For Gaimin Gladiators, the defeat marked the conclusion of a disappointing Major appearance. The team arrived at the event as one of the lowest-ranked participants and never managed to establish momentum. Their campaign began with a heavy opening loss to BetBoom, where they secured only four rounds on Dust2 before falling 13-4. That result immediately placed them on the back foot in the Swiss format and increased the pressure heading into subsequent matches.
The organization’s road to the Major had already attracted attention due to significant roster changes. Reports ahead of the event indicated that legendary Brazilian player Fernando “fer” Alvarenga joined the lineup shortly before the tournament, adding experience to a roster that already featured veterans Henrique “HEN1” Teles, Gabriel “NEKIZ” Schenato, Jhonatan “JOTA” Willian, and Luca “Luken” Nadotti. The move was viewed as an attempt to strengthen the squad for its biggest challenge of the season.
However, the revamped lineup was unable to produce the desired impact. Throughout Stage 1, Gaimin Gladiators struggled both tactically and individually, often finding themselves outmatched in key rounds. Their loss to HEROIC ultimately sealed an 0-3 exit, making them one of the first teams eliminated from the competition.
HEROIC, meanwhile, delivered the type of performance expected from a team with aspirations beyond the opening stage. The international roster consistently controlled the pace of the series, capitalizing on Gaimin Gladiators’ mistakes and limiting opportunities for their opponents to build confidence. The victory ensured HEROIC remained in contention for advancement while simultaneously ending the Brazilian squad’s Major journey.
The result also continued a difficult period for Gaimin Gladiators’ Counter-Strike project. After re-entering the scene through roster acquisitions and multiple lineup changes over the past two years, the organization has yet to establish itself as a consistent force at the highest level. Despite occasional flashes of promise and the addition of experienced names, results have remained inconsistent, particularly against stronger international opposition.
For HEROIC, the focus now shifts to the next round of Stage 1, where every victory brings them closer to qualification. For Gaimin Gladiators, the early exit raises fresh questions about the future direction of the roster and whether further changes will be necessary following a Major campaign that never truly got off the ground.
With Stage 1 continuing to narrow the field, HEROIC remain alive in the hunt for a deeper run, while Gaimin Gladiators leave the tournament searching for answers after a brief and disappointing appearance on Counter-Strike’s biggest stage.
