“gr1ks” leads the way as BIG clinch berth at Skyesports Chennai

The Belarusian rifler Gleb “gr1ks” Gazin topped the scoreboard as German side BIG defeated European underdog BC.Game 2-0 to secure their spot at the Skyesports Chennai Esports Global Championship 2025 Europe Open Qualifier.

In the semi-final matchup played on October 22, 2025, BIG proved dominant and efficient, closing out the tie in straight maps. BC.Game’s recent boost—clearing their quarter-final match after a comeback from 10-2 down versus NOVAQ—was not enough to propel them further.

Match details

  • Map 1: BIG took it 13-4 on Overpass.

  • Map 2: BIG followed up with a 13-5 win on Mirage.

  • With this result, BIG advance to the main LAN event in Chennai, India.

standout performance

gr1ks was prolific throughout the tie, finishing with an overall 38-14 (+24) kill-death on the two maps. On Map 1, he registered a staggering 24-6 (+18) performance with an ADR of 121.4. On Map 2, he added 14-8 (+6), finishing well ahead of the field.

  • David “prosus” Hesse: 24-13 (+11) rating 67.5, showing solid impact.

In contrast, BC.Game failed to gain traction. Their top-performing player, Aleksandar “CacaNito” Kjulukoski, ended the tie at 25-27 (−2) with a rating of 73.6.

Event Context

The Europe Open Qualifier for the Skyesports Chennai Esports Global Championship invited 14 European teams—two of whom would earn LAN spots in India (November 7-16 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium). Invited teams included BIG and BC.Game among others.

On the other side of the bracket, fellow qualifier Mousquetaires secured their LAN ticket by defeating teams such as FUT and MOLO.

What’s next?

With their qualification secured, BIG will now head to India for the LAN portion of the tournament. The win marks an early successful step for the squad and their recent roster iteration. For BC.Game, meanwhile, the defeat means elimination from the qualifier, despite the high-profile addition of Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and returning veteran electroNic. (It was electroNic’s debut event with BC.Game.)

The dominant performance from gr1ks and co. suggests BIG are in strong form heading into Chennai, and marks one of the more one-sided semi-final wins in this qualifier.
