G2 Seal 2-0 Pool Spot by Beating FURIA

G2 have secured their place in the 2-0 pool of ESL Pro League Season 22, after defeating FURIA 2–0 in their series — putting them just one win away from the playoff stage. 

This result also served as revenge for G2, who had previously fallen to FURIA in a group stage meeting during a past event. With this win, G2 now lead in the recent head-to-head matchup, having edged ahead in the balance of wins across their last four series.

Map 1: Train

FURIA struck first — despite failing to win the pistol round, they grabbed an early 4–3 lead. G2 responded and tied it, but FURIA later pushed ahead to 7–5, driven by KSCERATO’s performance. 

However, G2 turned the tides in the second pistol, when MATYS delivered a quad kill to retie. G2 then capitalized on the momentum: through disciplined defense, especially on B site where HeavyGod repeatedly denied entries, they ran off six straight rounds to close out the map 13–11.

Map 2: Dust2

G2 dominated early, launching a commanding 10–0 run on defense, allowing only two rounds before halftime. MATYS turned in a stellar CT-side performance with a 2.56 rating. 

FURIA attempted a comeback after securing the pistol, clawing back to eight rounds. But G2 responded under pressure, sealing the remaining three rounds to clinch the series.
