G2 Clinch First Prize, Astralis & Virtus.pro Shift Gears; FISSURE 2 on the Horizon
After a week off, HLTV Confirmed returns with Milan “Striker” Švejda, Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill, and Zvonimir “Professeur” Burazin. This edition focuses on G2's breakthrough title, roster changes at Astralis and Virtus.pro, and what to expect from the upcoming FISSURE Playground 2.
G2’s First Major Win
G2 captured their first trophy with the current roster at BLAST Open London after defeating Vitality in a full five‑map Grand Final.
This win is especially significant as it comes without their former stars NiKo and m0NESY. Yet they managed to silence doubters.
One of the newer members, malbsMd (Mario Samayoa), reflected on a key earlier match:
“It felt good … On Mirage I was getting farmed by donk, but then I don’t know, I feel like I just managed to come back.”
Roster / Organisation Changes: Astralis & Virtus.pro
There are confirmed player and ownership changes at Astralis.
Virtus.pro has also made changes, including benching electroNic, bringing in tO0RO from VP.Prodigy, and other adjustments.
Despite recent struggles, these shifts signal a push from both orgs to regain more competitive consistency.
FISSURE Playground 2: What to Watch
The team list for FISSURE Playground 2 has been finalized; Legacy, HEROIC, paiN, and Lynn Vision are among the confirmed participants.
The show also examines expectations vs importance for the competing teams, and “what are the odds” for favorites to win.
Astralis will face Aurora in the Swiss Round 1 of FISSURE Playground 2.
