FUT Esports announced themselves on the opening day of the PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 Swiss stage with a strong performance against Aurora. The young international side secured a 2–1 victory in their first group match, putting themselves in a favorable position in the early standings.

The best-of-three contest began on Mirage, where FUT controlled the pace from the start and closed out a 13-6 win. They looked poised to sweep the series, but Aurora responded emphatically on Anubis, taking a 16-13 victory after overturning FUT’s mid-game lead to tie the match at 1–1. The series then returned to form on Overpass, where FUT regained control with another 13-6 finish to clinch the 2–1 result.

FUT’s pistol round dominance — winning all six throughout the series — was a key factor in their success, enabling them to dictate map momentum. Standout individual performances came from Džiugas “dziugss” Steponavičius and Laurențiu “lauNX” Țârlea, who combined firepower and consistency when it mattered most.
