FURIA secure third straight grand-final berth after defeating paiN in Hong Kong
In a dominant display at the BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2 in Hong Kong, FURIA cemented their place in the grand final for the third consecutive time by dispatching fellow Brazilian side paiN Gaming 2-0 in the semi-final. (Maps: Nuke 13-3, Overpass 16-12)
On Nuke, FURIA set the tone early with a convincing 13-3 victory. The momentum continued on Overpass, where despite trailing 4-11 at one point, they mounted a comeback to close it out 16-12 and secure the series.
The win reinforces FURIA’s dominance in the event: they not only make the grand final yet again but face a familiar foe in the final showdown. The upcoming grand final will pit FURIA against Team Falcons, giving Falcons a fourth attempt to best FURIA this season. FURIA have won their last three meetings against Falcons and aim for three titles in a row.
Meanwhile, paiN’s road to the semi-final had been strong — they advanced from the quarter-finals after a 2-0 sweep of Passion UA. But their challenge ended here, as FURIA’s experience and momentum proved overwhelming.
With this victory, FURIA continue their upward trajectory following recent successes (including a win at IEM Chengdu 2025) and head into the grand final as heavy favourites.
