FURIA narrowly defeat The MongolZ 2-0 to advance to TWC Playoffs

FURIA overcame The MongolZ in a tightly contested Best-of-3 series to secure their place in the Thunderpick World Championship (TWC) playoffs.
Although the match ended in two maps, neither was a simple walkover — one went to overtime, and the other was decided in the final round of regulation.

On Dust2, both teams traded rounds on their respective T sides, finishing the halves at 7–8. In overtime, FURIA’s Terrorist side proved decisive: after one full round of extra time, they strung together three consecutive rounds to reach match point, then converted it following the side swap.

The second map, Mirage, saw The MongolZ start strongly, taking 8 rounds on T side and building a 10–4 lead as CT. A timely pistol round win further extended their momentum. However, FURIA mounted a massive comeback. They erased the deficit, seized the lead, and brought the match to match point just before the final round of regulation.

The conclusion came down to a dramatic 2v2 retake. The MongolZ secured the first kill on FURIA’s Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato, but FURIA answered back: Yuri “yuurih” Santos traded quickly and then clinched the 1v1 to seal the comeback in spectacular fashion, 13–11.

With this victory, FURIA advance to the TWC playoffs. Meanwhile, The MongolZ still retain a lifeline: they will play in the Group A decider match on Friday against the winner of the lower bracket clash between 9z and OG, aiming to earn a last chance at advancing.
