fnatic’s Maden Says Team Can Surprise If Roles Start Clicking at Roman Imperium Cup V

Pavle “Maden” Bošković, fnatic’s recent addition to the active lineup, described a period of adjustment as he settles into his new role — and believes fnatic still has real potential if their play “clicks” during Roman Imperium Cup V.

The Montenegrin rifler is competing in his first LAN with fnatic following his January move to replace Benjamin “blameF” Bremer, who transferred to BIG earlier this year. After a challenging start to play with his new teammates, Maden says he’s growing more comfortable and confident in his assigned roles.

fnatic secured a playoff spot in the Roman Imperium Cup V group stage with a 13–11 victory over Oramond and a dominant 2–0 win against SAW, only interrupted by a 0–2 loss to BetBoom earlier in the day.

“Independent and fear have been helping me a lot with those positions,” Maden explained. “The last two, three weeks have been much better for me. I didn’t feel confident in some positions, but now it’s getting better and better.”

Early Impressions and Team Synergy

Maden praised the team’s atmosphere and chemistry since joining fnatic, highlighting the passion and positive attitude of his teammates. The LAN environment has accelerated their cohesion, he said, making communication and strategy clearer now that everyone is together in person.

He admitted the role transition hasn’t been entirely smooth; some maps were initially tough due to unfamiliar positions, but support from teammates such as Independent and fEAR helped him adapt.

Individual Talent and Major Aspirations

Although fnatic still sit 35th in global rankings and have an uphill battle toward qualifying for the next CS2 Major — likely IEM Cologne 2026 — Maden pointed to last season’s unexpected Major qualification as proof that the grind isn’t impossible.

“Last year they were in a very hard situation to get to the Major, and they managed to do it because they just focused on every tournament, every game. And then if it happens, it happens.”

Rather than setting aggressive goals for this year, fnatic are concentrating on one match at a time, he said. In Maden’s view, the organization has plenty of firepower if everything clicks:

“Everyone knows how to play good Counter-Strike. The individuals on this team are very good. If things click, I think we can be a very good team.”

Maden singled out some teammates — in particular jackasmo and jambo — for their excellent individual performances at this event, saying that giving them room to shine could be key to deeper runs in tournaments.

fnatic now advance to the quarter-finals of Roman Imperium Cup V and will hope to use their current momentum as a springboard toward larger events later in the year.
