FaZe turn to DraculaN Season 6 as the race for Major invites intensifies
FaZe have registered for the upcoming DraculaN Season 6 tournament in Bucharest as they attempt to secure crucial ranking points ahead of the invite cut-off for the next Counter-Strike Major. With only a few weeks remaining before invitations are determined, the European squad is exploring additional opportunities to improve its position in the Valve Regional Standings (VRS).
The Romanian event is scheduled to take place from March 29 to April 2 in Bucharest, offering a $15,000 prize pool and VRS points that could prove decisive for teams hovering around the qualification threshold. DraculaN has become one of several tier-2 LAN events that teams are using strategically to collect ranking points before the Major invitation deadline.
FaZe’s situation has become increasingly precarious in recent weeks. According to the current European standings, the team sits around 12th place in the regional ranking, leaving their qualification hopes uncertain. As a result, every additional LAN appearance could play a critical role in determining whether the roster receives a direct invite to the upcoming Major.
Before the Romanian tournament, FaZe are also expected to compete at BLAST Open Rotterdam, another key opportunity to gather ranking points. However, with the Major cut-off approaching quickly, relying solely on top-tier events may not be enough. This has led many teams to adopt the same strategy: entering smaller LAN tournaments where a strong finish can still provide valuable ranking gains.
FaZe are not the only organization pursuing this approach. Several teams currently outside the safe qualification zone have registered for similar events. For instance, Liquid have also signed up for both Roman Imperium Cup VI and DraculaN Season 6 in an effort to revive their Major hopes after a disappointing exit from ESL Pro League. Statistical projections suggested that attending these additional LANs could significantly improve Liquid’s probability of reaching the Major.
The lineup expected to attend DraculaN Season 6 includes a mix of rising squads and established organizations. Among the notable teams currently registered are Monte, fnatic, Passion UA, FUT, Sashi, Alliance, MOUZ NXT, BESTIA, Liquid, and FaZe. The full list of participants is scheduled to be finalized on March 15.
Although DraculaN is categorized as a tier-2 event, it has steadily grown in relevance due to its inclusion in the VRS ecosystem. The tournament series, organized in Romania, regularly attracts more than twenty teams and offers a structured LAN environment that can help emerging rosters gain experience while allowing top teams to accumulate ranking points.
FaZe’s participation also fits into a broader schedule in Bucharest. After the conclusion of DraculaN Season 6, the team plans to remain in the city to compete in PGL Bucharest, which begins immediately on April 3. This back-to-back LAN stretch could provide multiple opportunities for the squad to improve its ranking position before the Major invitations are finalized.
With the qualification race tightening and only a few events left before the cut-off, the coming weeks will likely determine which teams secure their place at the Major. For FaZe, success at events like BLAST Open Rotterdam and DraculaN Season 6 may ultimately decide whether the organization continues its long streak of Major appearances or risks missing out on Counter-Strike’s biggest stage.
