FaZe send 3DMAX packing from Budapest

At the FaZe vs. 3DMAX clash during the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, FaZe convincingly won the 1-2 pool series 2–0, eliminating 3DMAX from the tournament. 

After early setbacks — including best-of-one losses to Spirit and The MongolZ — FaZe showed a sharp turnaround on Day 3, dominating their series against 3DMAX. 

Match Recap

• The series consisted of two maps: Dust2 and Inferno.

• On Dust2, FaZe overcame an early pistol-round loss from 3DMAX, then won six straight T-side rounds. The momentum shifted firmly in FaZe’s favor after a pistol-round quadruple kill by FaZe’s rising star Jakub "jcobbb" Pietruszewski — turning point that set FaZe up for a 13–6 map win.

• On Inferno, despite 3DMAX winning the pistol round, FaZe’s defense held strong. Another pistol-round quad kill by jcobbb and a flurry of kills from David "frozen" Čerňanský crushed any hope of a comeback, and FaZe closed the map 13–5, sealing the series.

Implications

• 3DMAX are now eliminated from the 2025 Major — their run ends after making Stage 3 with a 3-2 record in Stage 2, holding just one win over PARIVISION, but falling short in critical deciders.

• For FaZe, the win secures progression into the 2-2 pool, where they will next face Passion UA — regardless of the result between The MongolZ and G2.
