FaZe Cruise to Stage 3 of StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 With 2-0 Sweep over Ninjas in Pyjamas
FaZe’s Resurgence at the Budapest Major
Coming into Stage 2 with their backs against the wall after a shaky Stage 1, FaZe—who only narrowly edged Fluxo 2-1 to advance—now look revitalized.
In Stage 2, FaZe rolled through the competition: opening with a clean win over Passion UA, then defeating Aurora 13-10 to finish the first day with a perfect 2-0 slate.
Their final test came against Ninjas in Pyjamas — a team that had already eliminated FaZe earlier in the tournament. But this time FaZe answered back emphatically.
Clean 2-0 Over NiP — How It Happened
-
Map 1: Inferno — NiP looked in control early, posting a 9-3 lead on the CT-side. However, FaZe turned things around beginning with a triple pistol-round clutch from Jakub 'jcobbb' Pietruszewski that sparked a comeback. Key rounds later, their momentum carried them into overtime — where FaZe blitzed NiP with a clean 4-0 finish to take the first map.
-
Map 2: Nuke — NiP surged ahead early, winning five straight after the pistol to lead 5-2. But FaZe stabilized, clawing back by halftime. Despite NiP breaking FaZe’s economy and surviving a force-buy, FaZe held steady. A critical 2v4 by Helvijs 'broky' Saukants and FaZe’s IGL Finn 'karrigan' Andersen evened the score at 11-11. The map remained tied at 24 — and once again, FaZe dominated the overtime to seal the series 2-0.
Across both maps, FaZe's stars shone: Russel 'Twistzz' Van Dulken (1.36 rating) and David 'frozen' Čerňanský (1.24) led the charge, while jcobbb delivered a 1.22 rating and boasted the highest round-swing (+2.03%) of the series.

FaZe’s turnaround from a near-elimination in Stage 1 to sweeping Stage 2 shows resilience and adaptability.
