Favorites dominate Day 2 at BLAST Bounty Season 2 as top teams advance

The second day of BLAST Bounty Season 2 continued the trend set on the opening day, as all four higher-seeded teams — Virtus.pro, Natus Vincere, Spirit, and Astralis — secured victories in their respective best-of-three matchups. With the tournament’s bounty system offering lower-seeded teams the chance to claim rewards by upsetting favorites, Day 2 again saw the status quo prevail.
Virtus.pro overcame MIBR in a close series. After a confident win on Train, the Russian squad found themselves trailing 2–10 on Overpass. However, a resilient defensive side, combined with individual heroics from fame, who produced an ace and a clutch in a triple overtime round, and FL1T, who added another ace, helped secure the comeback and the 2–0 win.
Natus Vincere had a more turbulent journey against TNL. The underdogs took Ancient in overtime, showing strong defensive structure. Still, NAVI bounced back on Nuke, where makazze opened with a flawless 9–0 start, and then closed the series on Mirage thanks to w0nderful, who posted a 1.92 rating while playing as Terrorist.
Team Spirit also had to recover after an early setback. Facing Passion UA, they lost Dust2 despite holding an 8–4 lead. But on Mirage and Ancient, Spirit delivered dominant performances on the CT side. sh1ro, zont1x, and zweih all played crucial roles in turning the match around and advancing to the next round.
Astralis, in contrast, cruised through their series against Rare Atom. On Ancient, Staehr stood out with a remarkable 15–2 kill-death ratio just seven rounds into the map. stavn took the spotlight on Overpass, helping Astralis close the series cleanly and without much resistance.
With these results, half of the tournament's opening-round matches are now complete. Eight more BO3 matchups are scheduled as the battle for LAN qualification continues. The online stage of BLAST Bounty Season 2 runs until August 10, after which eight teams will proceed to the offline finals in Malta, taking place from August 14–17.
