fame Says PGL Astana Boosted K27 Ahead of CIS LAN Playoffs
Virtus.pro loanee fame believes K27 improved significantly after PGL Astana 2026
Petr “fame” Bolyshev says K27 gained valuable experience from competing at PGL Astana 2026, with the former Virtus.pro player claiming the event helped the roster improve both tactically and mentally ahead of the MPKBK CIS LAN Season 5 playoffs.
Speaking in an interview with CyberMeta, fame explained that K27 spent the period after PGL Astana reviewing mistakes and converting practice performances into stronger official results. The Russian rifler described the tournament as a “big boost” for the developing Counter-Strike 2 lineup.
fame fully adapts to K27 roster after Virtus.pro loan
fame joined K27 on a short-term loan from Virtus.pro in April 2026 after being removed from the organization’s active CS2 lineup earlier this year. According to reports from HLTV.org, the original loan agreement did not include a permanent buyout clause.
Later, Virtus.pro officially confirmed that fame’s loan had been extended following his participation at PGL Astana 2026, where K27 faced several higher-ranked opponents despite exiting during the group stage.
The 22-year-old player said he has now “fully integrated” into K27’s system, highlighting both tactical preparation and improved chemistry with teammates outside the server.
“I think I’ve integrated into K27 as much as possible,” fame said.
“I try to help with calls, share my understanding of the game, and take responsibility during matches.”
K27 show improvement at MPKBK CIS LAN Season 5
K27 opened MPKBK CIS LAN Season 5 with back-to-back victories over PsychoFace and WW Team, securing first place in Group C and advancing to the playoffs.
Although the results were positive, fame admitted the team was still unhappy with parts of its performance after dropping maps in both series.
“Winning is winning, but we need to make the right conclusions and show better Counter-Strike in the playoffs,” he said.
The player also commented on a potential playoff clash against his parent organization Virtus.pro, saying there is no conflict between him and his former teammates but acknowledging the matchup would provide extra motivation.
“Of course, I want to win — it would be interesting.”
PGL Astana experience helping K27 develop in CS2
K27’s appearance at PGL Astana 2026 marked one of the organization’s biggest international opportunities so far in CS2. Despite failing to secure a playoff berth, the roster gained experience against stronger international opposition — something fame believes is already translating into better structure and confidence.
The former Virtus.pro player also revealed he is still adapting to certain maps within K27’s pool, particularly Nuke, which he had reportedly not played competitively for several years before joining the team.
Why fame’s move to K27 matters for the CIS CS2 scene
fame remains one of the more experienced riflers currently competing in the CIS tier-two Counter-Strike scene. His temporary transfer to K27 gives the roster a proven player with experience at top-tier events including Majors and elite international tournaments under Virtus.pro.
With MPKBK CIS LAN Season 5 offering valuable VRS points and a $30,000 prize pool, K27’s recent improvement could help the team rise further in the regional CS2 rankings.
