FalleN’s Unreal Bo5 Legacy: Only One Loss Since 2016 as FURIA’s CS2 Era Reaches New Heights
Brazilian in-game leader and AWPer Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, now the captain of FURIA Esports, continues to hold one of the most astonishing records in Counter-Strike history — he has lost only one best-of-five grand final in his entire professional career.
His current winning streak spans at least 13 Bo5 finals, beginning after a 0–3 loss to Fnatic at IEM Katowice 2016. Following FURIA’s commanding 3–0 victory over Team Vitality at IEM Chengdu 2025, it was confirmed that this was FalleN’s 14th Bo5 title, giving him an overall career record of 14–1 in best-of-five championship matches.
From Katowice Heartbreak to a Decade of Dominance
FalleN’s only Bo5 defeat came at the height of the legendary Fnatic era, when Luminosity Gaming were swept 0–3 at IEM Katowice 2016. From that point onward, he has never lost another best-of-five grand final.
Here’s the full list of his Bo5 titles across both CS:GO and CS2 eras:

Thunderpick World Championship 2025 — 3:2 vs Natus Vincere

While some sources list 13 straight Bo5 wins and others 14, all agree on the essential fact: since 2016, FalleN has won every single Bo5 final he has played.
The FURIA Chapter: Three CS2 Titles in a Single Season
The Brazilian leader’s incredible record returned to the spotlight during his time with FURIA, where he guided the team through one of their most successful runs ever.
In the latter half of 2025, FURIA:
Captured the FISSURE Playground 2 trophy in Belgrade, defeating The MongolZ 3–2 after a grueling six-hour final — their first Big-Event LAN win.
Staged an epic comeback against NAVI to win the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 3–2, completing a reverse sweep.
Dominated Vitality 3–0 in the IEM Chengdu 2025 final with 13–11, 13–10, and 13–11 scorelines.
Rookie sensation Danil “molodoy” Golubenko earned MVP awards at both FISSURE Playground 2 and IEM Chengdu, becoming a breakout star alongside veterans KSCERATO and yuurih. Analyst Duncan “Thorin” Shields even predicted that molodoy “will become one of the greatest snipers in Counter-Strike history.”
FalleN on His Bo5 Mindset and FURIA’s Growth
Before facing Vitality in Chengdu, FalleN explained that “the reality check is, they’re the big boss,” acknowledging the opponent’s dominance while stressing that emotional control and mutual respect are crucial in Bo5s.
He added that FURIA are currently playing their “peak” Counter-Strike, with strong communication and discipline. Reflecting on his career move from Imperial to FURIA, FalleN said his main goal was “to bring another Brazilian team to the top.” Now, after multiple CS2 titles, he joked that the team “just can’t stop winning.”
He has also expressed deep respect for teammates yuurih and KSCERATO, calling them the strongest Brazilian players of their generation and emphasizing his role in helping them achieve championship success.
Passing the AWP — and the Praise
FalleN’s leadership also involved a personal sacrifice: he handed over the primary AWP role to molodoy to unlock the young player’s full potential. Caster Jason “moses” O’Toole highlighted that molodoy’s rise wouldn’t have been possible without FalleN’s willingness to step back, calling it “a rare act of humility at the top level.”
Molodoy’s back-to-back MVPs made him a frontrunner for Rookie of the Year, while analysts praised the KSCERATO + molodoy duo as one of the deadliest cores in CS2, powered by FalleN’s system and experience.
What’s Next for the Brazilian Captain
FURIA’s next major challenge will be BLAST Premier Rivals Season 2 2025, running from November 12–16 with a $350,000 prize pool. Looking further ahead, the Budapest CS2 Major will feature a Bo5 grand final format — a setting where FalleN has proven nearly unbeatable.
If the trend continues, his Bo5 record will stand as one of the most enduring achievements in Counter-Strike history:
-
Career Bo5 record: 14 wins, 1 loss
-
Only defeat: Fnatic, IEM Katowice 2016
-
Streak: Every Bo5 final won since that day
For almost a decade, whenever a championship has come down to a full best-of-five, Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo has stood as the final boss of Counter-Strike
