Without a Roof originally existed in 2016 after Obey Alliance parted ways with its lineup. Brehze was part of that original roster. The tag was revived in 2026, making him the link between the two eras of the team. Liquipedia records the current version of the lineup as being established under the tag on August 11. 

The 2026 project initially had another reunion angle. In June, Stewie2K and autimatic entered the BLAST Open Fall North American qualifier alongside their former Cloud9 teammate Skadoodle, bringing together three members of the roster that won the ELEAGUE Boston Major in 2018. FaNg and steel were also used for the qualifier. 

The permanent lineup subsequently took shape with CeRq replacing Skadoodle, FaNg receiving a permanent starting spot and steel becoming coach.

That means an organization signing Without a Roof would be acquiring an already-established five-man lineup rather than building a roster from scratch.

Keeping the lineup together under an organization could also reduce the disruption that normally accompanies building a new roster, although the practical terms of any potential deal remain unknown.
