dumau Says arT Is Transforming Legacy’s CS2 System Ahead of Major Events

Brazilian Counter-Strike 2 team Legacy appear to be finding stability again after a difficult stretch of LAN results, with Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer highlighting the growing impact of in-game leader Andrei “arT” Piovezan following the squad’s opening victory at IEM Atlanta 2026.

Legacy defeated M80 2-0 to stay alive in the tournament and secure a decisive clash against Astralis. The result marked an encouraging rebound for the Brazilian roster after disappointing exits at both PGL Bucharest and IEM Rio earlier this season.

Speaking after the win, dumau explained that the team has been rebuilding confidence internally and adapting to arT’s leadership style since the former Fluxo captain joined the lineup earlier this year.

dumau Explains arT’s Influence on Legacy’s CS2 Playstyle

According to dumau, Legacy are currently trying to combine the aggressive identity that previously defined the roster with arT’s tactical vision and experience as a veteran IGL.

“We’re trying to find a balance for what we like and what he sees in the game,” dumau said in an interview with HLTV.

The Brazilian star emphasized that roster evolution is necessary if the team wants to compete internationally in Counter-Strike 2.

“If you don’t change, you’re gonna be a tier-two team,” he added.

Legacy officially signed arT in February after benching Lucas “lux” Meneghini, making one of the most notable Brazilian CS2 roster changes of the season. The move reunited arT with several players he had previously faced in domestic competition and immediately raised expectations around the squad’s tactical ceiling.

Legacy Showing Progress Since arT Joined

The addition of arT produced early positive results. Legacy impressed during ESL Pro League Season 23, advancing through Stage 1 with a perfect 3-0 record in arT’s debut event with the organization.

After that run, arT praised the team’s communication and mid-round activity, noting that the players’ individual skill often helps the team recover difficult situations.

However, consistency remains an issue for the Brazilian side. Legacy suffered a painful home elimination at IEM Rio 2026, where HOTU defeated them 2-0 in front of the local crowd. The result increased pressure on the roster heading into the second half of the season.

dumau admitted the Rio disappointment forced the team to improve its mentality and accountability.

“We became more for each other,” he explained, saying the players now trust one another more during difficult moments.

dumau and arT Building Strong Chemistry in CS2

One of the biggest questions surrounding the roster move was whether dumau’s naturally aggressive style would conflict with arT’s historically high-tempo system. The rifler dismissed those concerns, joking that arT now describes himself as “a support” compared to his earlier years.

dumau believes their chemistry makes adaptation easier.

“For us, this part is easy. We just have chemistry, and we can play around,” he said.

The comments suggest Legacy are moving toward a more flexible tactical approach rather than relying solely on the chaotic aggression traditionally associated with arT-led teams.

Legacy Preparing for Astralis and Upcoming CS2 Events

Following the victory over M80, Legacy prepared for a high-stakes series against Astralis at IEM Atlanta. dumau acknowledged the challenge but said the team approaches every opponent with confidence.

“Astralis are a good team. It’s always a good fight against them,” he stated.

Legacy also recently adjusted their coaching staff, moving Alan “adrrr” Riveros into the active coaching role for the remainder of the season while RiVAS remains away from tournament play.

After IEM Atlanta, Legacy are expected to travel to China for CAC before beginning preparations for the upcoming IEM Cologne Major cycle.

With arT continuing to reshape the system and dumau remaining one of Brazil’s most explosive riflers, Legacy are positioning themselves as one of the most intriguing South American teams to watch in the CS2 competitive scene throughout 2026.
