CCT Reveals Teams for 2026 Global Finals

The organizers of the Champion of Champions Tour (CCT) have officially revealed the team list for the 2026 Global Finals, confirming key participants and shedding more light on the structure of the upcoming LAN event. The tournament will take place from April 23 to April 26 in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, marking a return to an offline format after previous editions were held online.
According to the announcement, the event will feature eight teams competing in a double-elimination bracket, with best-of-three matches throughout and a best-of-five grand final. The total prize pool is set at $75,000, continuing CCT’s focus on providing opportunities for tier-two and developing teams to compete on an international stage.
Two of the eight slots have already been allocated through a partnership with the Parken Challenger Championship (PCC). The winners of the first two PCC LAN events secured direct wildcard invitations to the Global Finals, highlighting a new pathway between online circuits and offline competitions.
Among the confirmed participants are GamerLegion and Betclic, both entering the event via these wildcard routes tied to PCC results. The remaining six spots will be determined by the global Valve Regional Standings (VRS), which serve as the primary ranking system for invites.
This qualification system reflects broader changes in the CCT ecosystem for 2026. Earlier announcements outlined a multi-tier circuit structure across Europe, including Regular, Challengers, and Contenders divisions, designed to create a progression ladder for teams aiming to reach higher-tier events like the Global Finals.
The Global Finals itself sits at the top of this ecosystem, acting as the culmination of multiple online tournaments held throughout the year. Events such as the CCT Contenders series provide smaller prize pools and opportunities for lesser-known teams to gain experience and improve their standings, ultimately feeding into the qualification process for larger competitions.
Compared to the 2025 edition, the 2026 Global Finals introduces several notable changes. Last year’s tournament featured a larger $150,000 prize pool and was played entirely online, with teams such as HEROIC, B8, and BetBoom competing for the title. The shift to a LAN environment in 2026 represents a significant step forward in terms of competitive integrity and prestige, even though the prize pool has been reduced.
Additionally, the event’s scheduling places it within a busy spring calendar for Counter-Strike, alongside major tournaments like IEM Rio and BLAST events. This positioning suggests that CCT continues to operate as a complementary circuit, focusing on teams outside the absolute top tier while still offering meaningful exposure and competition.
Overall, the announcement of the team list confirms the continued evolution of the CCT Global Finals as a bridge between grassroots competition and higher-level international play. By integrating ranking-based invites with LAN qualification pathways, the organizers aim to create a more structured and merit-driven ecosystem. The finalized lineup will be completed once all VRS-based invites are determined, setting the stage for an eight-team showdown in Portugal later this month.
