B8 Places AWPer headtr1ck on Transfer List Amid AWP Role Tryouts
Ukrainian esports organisation B8 has officially placed Daniil “headtr1ck” Valitov on the transfer list as it begins AWPer tryouts and evaluates potential alternatives at the sniper position, the club announced on Sunday.
According to B8’s statement, no final decision has been made regarding headtr1ck’s future role in the lineup. The organisation said it plans to test other AWPer options in the coming days, and that the direction of the team will become clearer over the next two weeks. B8 added it is “happy to consider all possible options and speak with interested parties.”
The 21-year-old AWPer reacted to the announcement on X (formerly Twitter), describing the news as unexpected. He stated he was prepared to continue with B8 but respects the organisation’s decision as they reassess the AWP role. headtr1ck expressed pride in his contributions and the team’s progress, noting the collective growth from outside the top 40 in the world rankings to breaking into the top 10.
In his post, headtr1ck emphasised that he is open to offers not only as an AWPer but also as a rifler, which was his original role earlier in his career and one he feels confident playing.
headtr1ck has been part of B8 since April 2024, during which time the squad steadily improved — achieving strong online results and several deep runs at tier-two LAN events such as ESL Challenger Katowice 2024, MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2025, and StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2025.
Most recently, B8 made a notable appearance at the StarLadder Budapest Major, reaching Stage 3 of the event before a difficult final Swiss phase schedule saw them finish with a 2–3 record against teams including Falcons, MOUZ, Vitality, paiN, and Natus Vincere.
Individually, headtr1ck delivered a respectable performance in the early stages of the Major, but across the second half of the season as B8 became a more frequent competitor on the tier-one circuit, his rating dipped to an average of 0.94 — a factor that may have contributed to the organisation’s decision to reassess the AWPer spot.
What’s Next
B8’s world ranking currently stands near its highest point ever — inside the top 10 globally, reflecting strong results and increasing expectations around roster optimisation.
Over the coming fortnight, the organisation will finalise its plans for the AWPer role and potentially confirm a new lineup direction. headtr1ck remains available for negotiations, with interest likely from other teams seeking experienced AWPers or versatile riflers.
