B8 Defeat The MongolZ to Reach CS Asia Championships 2026 Playoffs

Ukrainian squad B8 continued their impressive run at CS Asia Championships 2026 after defeating The MongolZ 2-1 in the Group B upper-bracket semi-final, securing a spot in the tournament playoffs and moving one step closer to the trophy.

The victory sends B8 into the upper-bracket final against MIBR, where a direct semi-final berth will be on the line. Meanwhile, The MongolZ drop into the lower bracket and now face elimination pressure in Shanghai.

B8 Come Back to Eliminate The MongolZ From Upper Bracket

The series opened on Ancient, B8’s map pick, where the Ukrainian side mounted a late comeback to steal a 13-11 win after trailing 7-10. The MongolZ answered back on Nuke with an identical 13-11 scoreline, forcing the match onto Mirage.

Mirage quickly became the defining map of the series. Despite entering halftime behind 4-8, B8 delivered a dominant CT-side performance, winning nine of the next ten rounds to close the map 13-9 and complete the upset victory.

The result marks one of B8’s biggest wins of the season and continues the team’s strong form against top-tier international competition.

npl Leads B8 With Star Performance

Former NAVI player Andrii “npl” Kukharskyi was the standout performer of the match. The rifler finished the series with:

66 kills

99.3 ADR

1.50 HLTV rating

His performance on Mirage proved especially crucial, where he recorded a 2.05 rating and helped B8 lock down the deciding map with aggressive CT-side control.

Following the match, npl credited the team’s recent preparation for the result.

“We’ve worked a lot, and it pays off. It’s great to see,” npl told HLTV.

The Ukrainian player also stated that B8 arrived at CS Asia Championships 2026 believing they could make a deep playoff run.

“Our goal was to make playoffs and show our best game there. If we continue playing like this, we can actually win this tournament.”

Revenge Against The MongolZ

The victory also served as revenge for B8 after their previous defeat against The MongolZ earlier this year at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026.

According to npl, B8 struggled in that earlier matchup because of communication mistakes and poor mid-round execution. The player explained that the team spent significant time fixing those issues during recent practice sessions before arriving in Shanghai.

B8 Continue Strong CS Asia Championships 2026 Run

Before defeating The MongolZ, B8 opened their campaign with a convincing 13-9 victory over Ninjas in Pyjamas. Their next opponent, MIBR, reached the upper final after a 2-0 win over PARIVISION.

With confidence growing and npl performing at a star level, B8 are quickly becoming one of the surprise contenders of CS Asia Championships 2026.
