Aurora defeat Legacy to reach ESL Pro League Season 23 semi-finals

Aurora make EPL semi-finals after defeating Legacy

Aurora secured a place in the semi-finals of ESL Pro League Season 23 after defeating Brazilian side Legacy 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the LAN playoffs. The victory continues Aurora’s strong run in the tournament and sets up a clash with the winner of the match between Astralis and Spirit in the next stage.

The series took place as a best-of-three and featured a dominant start from Aurora, a response from Legacy, and a decisive final map that ultimately sent the European squad into the final four.

Aurora dominate Dust2 to start the series

Legacy began the series on their map pick, Dust2, but Aurora quickly seized control. The European team delivered a commanding performance on both sides of the map, shutting down Legacy’s offense and converting round after round to claim a 13-4 victory.

Aurora’s aggressive approach and sharp aim left the Brazilian side struggling to gain momentum early in the match.

Legacy respond on Overpass

Legacy fought back on the second map, Overpass. After an evenly contested first half, the Brazilian squad found their rhythm on the CT side and managed to keep Aurora at bay.

With stronger defensive rounds and improved coordination, Legacy closed the map 13-8, tying the series and forcing a decider.

Inferno decider sends Aurora to the semis

The deciding map, Inferno, saw Aurora regain control. The team built a solid lead during the opening half and maintained their advantage in the closing stages of the map.

Legacy attempted to mount a comeback but struggled to break Aurora’s defensive setups, allowing the European side to seal the map 13-6 and win the series 2-1.

With the victory, Aurora advance to the semi-finals, while Legacy exit the tournament in 5-8th place, earning $15,000 in prize money.

Aurora continue strong EPL campaign

Aurora’s current lineup—featuring MAJ3R, XANTARES, woxic, Wicadia, and soulfly—has been one of the standout teams of the event and currently sits among the top teams in the world rankings.

Their playoff run has now taken them to the semi-final stage of the tournament, where they will face the winner of the Astralis vs Spirit matchup for a spot in the grand final.

ESL Pro League Season 23 is running from March 1 to March 15 and features top teams competing for a large prize pool and one of the most prestigious titles in Counter-Strike esports.
