3DMAX Announces Major Overhaul: Coaching Changes and Roster Update in CS2

French esports organization 3DMAX has confirmed a significant restructuring of its Counter-Strike 2 roster and coaching staff, marking one of the most notable changes for the team in 2026. The updates come in response to a difficult start to the competitive season, including poor results at key tournaments and a multi-series losing streak that highlighted ongoing performance issues.

Roster Change: misutaaa Replaces bodyy

3DMAX officially announced that Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier, a 23-year-old French rifler, has been signed from GenOne to replace Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro in the team’s starting lineup.

Misutaaa is a well-known French player whose career spans multiple notable organizations. He earned wider recognition earlier in his career during his time with Team Vitality, before moving through several international lineups including Into The Breach, 9INE, and FUT Esports. More recently, he had been competing with GenOne alongside future 3DMAX additions, positioning himself for a return to a top-tier French squad.

At 23 years old, misutaaa represents both experience in high-level competition and potential for further growth. His individual HLTV statistics reflect solid contributions across multiple maps played, though his impact at a consistent top-tier level has varied over different periods of his career.

Bodyy’s departure from the main lineup ends a tenure as one of 3DMAX’s more consistent performers in recent events. While the organization did not publicly specify whether this move was mutual or driven by performance considerations, it signals a strategic shift as 3DMAX looks to refine its competitive edge.

Coaching Staff Overhaul: wasiNk Returns, NBK- Joins as Assistant

In tandem with the player swap, 3DMAX has restructured its coaching framework. The organization announced the return of Damien “wasiNk” Dufour as head coach, replacing Pierre “YouKnow” Marco, who had been in the role since mid-2025.

WasiNk previously coached 3DMAX from April 2024 until June 2025, a stretch that saw the team through multiple major tournaments, including the Perfect World Shanghai Major and the BLAST.tv Austin Major. At the time of his departure, he stated that his and the organization’s visions were no longer fully aligned. His return underscores 3DMAX’s renewed confidence in his leadership and strategic approach as they attempt to correct course in 2026.

Complementing wasiNk’s return, French Counter-Strike veteran Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt has been brought in as an assistant coach. The 31-year-old NBK- transitions into coaching after a long and successful playing career that began in Counter-Strike: Source and spanned elite time in CS:GO with teams such as VeryGames, Team LDLC, Team Envy, Vitality, and G2. Over his 17-year competitive journey, NBK- achieved multiple tournament victories, including two CS:GO Major championships, making him one of the most decorated French players in Counter-Strike history.

The appointment of NBK- marks his first formal role in coaching, bringing deep tactical and competitive insight to 3DMAX’s staff alongside wasiNk. His experience with younger French talent at GenOne earlier in his career suggests a capacity to help guide and develop emerging playstyles within the team’s roster.

Context: Struggles and Strategic Shift

These changes come at a challenging time for 3DMAX. After early exits from major events such as BLAST Bounty, IEM Kraków 2026, and PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026, the team endured a stretch without victories, which drew scrutiny to its consistency and tactical direction. 3DMAX’s rough run included a loss against a mixed roster (M1X KS) in the BLAST Open Rotterdam qualifier, exacerbating concerns about the squad’s momentum.

Once ranked as high as #10 in the world, 3DMAX’s position dipped in the global landscape, and the organization is now looking to rebound. On paper, the new lineup that will debut on March 1 in ESL Pro League Season 23 Stage 1 consists of:

  • Filip “Graviti” Brankovic — Rifler

  • Bryan “Maka” Canda — Rifler

  • Pierre “Ex3rcice” Bulinge — Rifler

  • Lucas “Lucky” Chastang — Rifler

  • Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier — Rifler

  • Damien “wasiNk” Dufour — Head Coach

  • Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt — Assistant Coach

This combination of experienced French talent and coaching leadership aims to stabilize performance while injecting fresh strategic thinking ahead of the team’s next competitive chapter.
